Is the Why Michigan essay a part of the optional essays, or is there an opportunity to write one plus, for example, a diversity statement? I haven't looked at my apps in ages.slizerd wrote:Isn't there a one page limit? Why Michigan was one of the several optional essay prompts (that included diversity statements, addenda, etc.). I couldn't do it because I needed to discuss other thing.fips tedora wrote:Is the Why Michigan essay a part of the optional essays, or is there an opportunity to write one plus, for example, a diversity statement? Dear Michigan,
I have done what you have asked. Please take this as a sign of my utmost interest in you and your program. Can twitter fingers be acceptance fingers today?

Love,
An applicant that cares a bit too much

You can do two of the optional essays. I did a Why Michigan and a diversity statement.

Sounds groovy. I will be doing the same. I'm pretty hyped for Michigan. I would enjoy three years in A2.Dexter97 wrote:You can do two of the optional essays. I did a Why Michigan and a diversity statement.

Those are the two I did as well. I wonder how many people actually choose one of the other random eight topicsfips tedora wrote:Sounds groovy. I will be doing the same. I'm pretty hyped for Michigan. Alright, tomorrow's the day for more Michigan acceptances right?
It seems to me like they mostly come out Tuesday - Friday. I can't remember if we've had any Saturday acceptances or not.

Question: if I'm retaking the LSAT in December, but want to send my app in with my October score, should I indicate that I'm retaking on my app? I just don't want them to hold it until Dec scores come in.

I would go ahead and let them know that you're taking in Dec because you shouldn't withhold info, but you can call or email to request that they not wait.slizerd wrote:Question: if I'm retaking the LSAT in December, but want to send my app in with my October score, should I indicate that I'm retaking on my app? Upon further investigation, I'm seeing most if not all decisions thus far have been on Tuesdays and Wednesdays so those are the only days I'm going to get excited about at this pointWhiteHouse wrote:I hope you're right. Mine was a page and a half. I think it says to keep the additional essays to about a page, so I think 1.5 is fine.theugg wrote:This has probably been asked, but how long were you guys' Why Michigan essays? Assuming you wrote them.
