Interesting, my interviewer didn't say that... she said that the wait list can last until at least July/August. She did say that the majority will come out late May though.MajinBuu wrote:Haha! No worries. The next two weeks should be interesting then.crookedjaws wrote:Whoops major typo - I meant "within" two weeks. Also... had my JS1 a while ago. Don't know if I blew it or not. At least the interviewer smiled.
The interview was pretty much identical to an earlier post -
I was asked three questions
- talk about your resume
- if you could change your college experience, what would it be.
- where did I deposit
For the latter half of the interview the interviewer explained what agreeing to be on the waitlist entails.
After asking a few questions myself, the interview was over. Almost exactly 15 minutes.
Good luck to anyone else preparing for their JS1!

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
so a lot of you who had interviews this week mentioned they discussed conditions of the waitlist.
was this just along the lines of: 1) you can hear anytime from now until august 2) majority of decisions in a few weeks 3)if at any point you can no longer commit to harvard you should remove yourself from the waitlist.
am i missing anything?

Does the "No JS1 number" in the poll factor in subsequent number of post waitlist JS1?
And how does the Mai 15 deadline impact the waitlist?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
Hi TLSers, longtime lurker here. Thank you all for making this waiting process somewhat more bearable/providing an outlet for my admissions-induced craziness.
I had a JS1 (!!!) this week and spent about half of it talking about my WE and future plans. The other half was about where I deposited, my questions, and basically trying to determine how likely I'd be to accept an offer. The interviewer emphasized that if Harvard calls with an acceptance, they expect you to accept on the spot. She didn't say anything about hearing within two weeks, instead she hinted at later in the summer, like "Would you be willing and able to move to Cambridge on short notice?" Phrased more subtly, but that was the gist of it.
Really hoping for JS2s in two weeks like we've been predicting and more JS1s for those still waiting! In the meantime I love reading your updates and speculation. Thanks again!

not sure of your first question.Hikari wrote:Does the "No JS1 number" in the poll factor in subsequent number of post waitlist JS1?

i don't think the may 15th deadline will have much of an impact for HLS. it's impact is for schools where people have double-deposited, and i doubt harvard has that.

oh also pretty neat - looks like we have 37 no-js1s and 37 applicants with js1s on the WL (from the poll).

Phone call asking if you'll commit (for pre wl js1s only). If you say you can then you should expect a js2 in the next wave.Chill_Out wrote:how does the js1b process work?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
hopefully they're today, but my guess is js1bs on monday and then js2s later next week. feels like they would need a day at minimum to discuss the interviews this week before deciding who to call for a js1b.

Curious as to those who both have received post WL JS1s and those who have yet to receive a JS1, did you submit of LOCI?

I think that would be the most likely outcome too - although JS1bs today would be very excitingqwertyTLS wrote:hopefully they're today, but my guess is js1bs on monday and then js2s later next week. feels like they would need a day at minimum to discuss the interviews this week before deciding who to call for a js1b.

JS1 this week, and no...I didn't even know that was a thing I was supposed to dotfarunner wrote:Curious as to those who both have received post WL JS1s and those who have yet to receive a JS1, did you submit of LOCI?

No LOCI before post-WL JS1, though I did send an update to my resume a month or so after going complete.tfarunner wrote:Curious as to those who both have received post WL JS1s and those who have yet to receive a JS1, did you submit of LOCI?
Do you think since they don't seem to be doing the homework thing and sent that confirmation email recently, we might hear back sooner than next week?

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
I sent a LOCI but haven't received a JS1 yet. My status hasn't changed since 3/31. Also had two Harvard professors I'd worked with closely send additional letters of rec, which I'm now thinking was overkill. (I chatted with a graduating 3L who got in off the waitlist and she said letters could help, but since then I've heard other people say they don't.)tfarunner wrote:Curious as to those who both have received post WL JS1s and those who have yet to receive a JS1, did you submit of LOCI?
