I emailed them and they said that they will consider you for an increased merit award even if you don't deposit, but you have to deposit to hold on to your current award. Whatever that means.SupremeLaw wrote:So the consensus is that you can't negotiate the scholarship offer unless you submit the deposit by April 1st?

Would anyone who attended the Preview Day this past weekend be willing to share their thoughts on the school? I unfortunately could not attend and have never visited the campus (nor been to DC since middle school). I am planning to visit on the April 9 day that they are putting together but was curious to hear impressions from those who were able to attend their main event.

I will be sending a $ negotiation e-mail soon. Should I send this to the admissions office or the financial aid office?

What is the best email format for sending additional information to your waitlist file? Internships, work, etc?

You should be hearing really soon! I visited campus last Thursday! While I was there, I spoke with a professor who called admissions on my behalf (Anonymously/hypothetically) of course- Just because I had applied after the final admissions deadline and wanted to know how long it would take to hear back--so we could find out if I would hear in time to apply for an orientation program)
The admissions person said, at this point, they are turning out decisions at six week intervals from completed applications. Fingers crossed!!!

Are decisions coming through email or only through mail?

I would consider a LOCI saying it's your #1 (if it actually is)nosocat wrote:Complete since 1/22... only school I am still waiting on.

Status checker says "Decision Made" but no e-mail yet! How torturous

Also waitlisted today. Can't imagine why that took so long.

I'm wondering this as well.philliesphanatic wrote:Anyone been successful negotiating a higher scholarship after the April 1 deadline?
I haven't necessarily been expecting it though bc when I asked, admissions office told me April 13 a while ago.

^^ I'm currently waiting to hear back. I submitted both my deposit and scholarship increase request by April 1.

Re: George Washington c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
You didn't have to deposit to hear about the scholarship increase, however if you're attending no matter whether you get an increase or not - then all good. I didn't deposit and they told me theyd let me know a few days before April 15th if I get an increase. From a business standpoint, you could make the argument that they have more incentive to increase my request (because im out) than someone who did deposit (because they at least appear to be in)cafecreme15 wrote:^^ I'm currently waiting to hear back. About how long would you say the email took to send, once your status changed! Also when did you go complete! Thanks!

Has anyone who didn't receive an initial scholarship and was put on the reconsideration list (hear back by April 13) hear anything yet?
