I got by far my lowest offer, and I think the lowest offer on here so far, 10k a year. Far from enough, so Ill be immediately withdrawing.

The scholarship offer situation with BC this cycle is definitely irritating. I don't know what they're thinking or what they hope to accomplish. The school's job placement over the past several years, quite frankly, does not justify the kind of debt their "offers" would leave students with.

Was at their admitted students day, and someone raised the question about "what's your scholarship strategy?"
And the financial aid lady said this year they tried to give an offer to as many applicants as possible vs more for more qualified applicants.

I'd say it's not paying off so far, but I also seem to be one of the few who was offered more at BC than BU

I'll count my cool Boston College ASD commemorative pen towards the cost of tuition.

I did using higher offers from GW and Emory. Was told that they don't anticipate being able to increase scholarship offers until after the first deposit deadline.
has everybody else had similar results? I think one guy a few pages ago said they actually bumped his scholly by $1k a year, so maybe BC is more willing to negotiate before the deposit deadline than GW is?

BU and BC gave me the same amount of money. do you think there is anyway to play them against each other?
GW also gave me the same amount and would be a lower COL because I could commute from home but that did not cause BU to raise my offer.

if i double deposited at BU and BC do you think my scholly would increase?

or is BC/BU and GW a better double deposit?

ideally i want to end up in boston but with more scholly money

thanks in advance!

Anyone else still trying to decide between BC and another school that offered way more money?

Yeah, 11 k total tuition over three years at UNC or sticker at BC. Sucks but I can't rationally pick BC even though it's my top choice

My award was hidden in my spam folder also. 11k per year. Unfortunately not feasible.

I sent BC a negotiation email detailing the far better merit scholarship offers I've received from schools ranked up to 15 spots higher than BC. Their reply? They simply re-sent me the original email with their 20k offer, with nothing added, 20 minutes later.

Unbelievable.

What did they say in their reply? That seems rather odd.

They basically didn't reply. They just re-sent the email that I had already received that stated I had been awarded 20k/year.

How rude. Maybe it was an accident? But then again, I sent in a negotiation a while ago and I have yet to receive any acknowledgement.

Shame how BC has been. Not even gonna try negotiating. I will withdraw. Maybe if we all withdraw some really lucky kid who wasn't gonna get a dime gets all the scholarship money. Because at this rate, thats exactly what is gonna happen.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
