Why do people ED? It's literally one of the most incomprehensible aspects of law school admissions. Perhaps you are all rich?
It never hurts to be rich, but ED also can improve admissions chances if you're a marginal candidate or a super splitter. So, in some cases, it does make perfect sense.
The way I see it, marginally improved admissions prospects do not justify complete loss of flexibility and ability to negotiate offers. Call me crazy.
Lots of people agree with you

Ok simmer down it's not particularly useful to make anyone feel better or worse about an ED decision that has already been made. Go harp on c/o 2019 people who are considering it next fall.

Is it indicative of anything that my file was last reviewed on the 29th but there hasn't been anything else? Have I been passed over for the next round of acceptances?

I'm in the same boat as you, if that makes you feel better. I went UR4 (i think) on 12/29. Went complete 10/13 and had an interview on 11/18.

I wouldn't read too much into this (i'm trying not to); the UChi admissions office hasn't seemed to have made much noise this week.

Do you know what UR that was for you on 12/29?

Yeah..how do I know how many times it has updated the date? I hadn't checked it since my interview until just now haha, so I really have no idea how many times.

Also UR 4 29th. I think a lot of people went UR 4 on that day. I don't think it means anything out of the ordinary. If you don't know what UR it is, then it is useless to speculate (more than it already is)

Oping is both necessary and sufficient for a ruby.

I had my interview today. surprisingly i thought it felt more conversational than a JS1 (not conducted by JS though). chicago seemed to give more of a feedback throughout the interview, which gave me a sense of whether I was performing well or not.

JS1 was the coolest interview of my life--totally pressure free.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
