nope. people who were accepted 10/14 still have complete statuses.Shelbinole wrote:Do they post something on the status checker to let you know a letter/decision is coming or...?
Nothing changed while letter was enroute for me. However, I was accepted ED and a few days after I rec'd my letter --my status changed to "Deposits Fulfilled" (EDs do not have to submit deposits). Also, my requirements section changed to requiring Official Final Undergraduate Transcript & Certificate Form - not sure if that change happens to RDs as well.Shelbinole wrote:Do they post something on the status checker to let you know a letter/decision is coming or...?

yeah, the Official Final UG Transcript thing, it happens to some RDs, but not to others, so this might not be a solid indication.navykev wrote:Shelbinole wrote: my requirements section changed to requiring Official Final Undergraduate Transcript & Certificate Form - not sure if that change happens to RDs as well.
did you apply ED? what was your application timeline like?BFrazer05 wrote:Hey all,
Received the following email today:
"Dear Mr. xxxxx:
Thank you for participating in our interview process for Georgetown University Law Center. Although the record you present is a strong one, the Committee on Admissions has chosen to postpone your final decision.
Each year, a large number of candidates submit applications to Georgetown Law early in the process. The high quality of this group makes the Committee's decisions extremely difficult. Please be aware that only a small number of early applicants have their applications held, and a number of those applicants in past years have subsequently been admitted.
Once we have a better sense of the entire applicant pool, the Committee on Admissions will review your application again. No additional information is necessary, and the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) will continue to send us updates, which we will add to your file. A final decision will be made no later than Friday, January 30, 2015.
On behalf of the Committee, we appreciate your patience and continued interest in Georgetown."
My numbers are pretty low -- I'm below 25% GPA and right above 25% LSAT, but have a lot of strong softs (Truman Scholarship, competitively successful college debater, very strong upward grade trend, B.S. in a challenging degree program, REU student, lots of volunteer work, etc.), so I'm pleased I wasn't rejected outright. I think GULC is honest when they say their acceptance process isn't merely a numbers game
My thinking is: If they wanted to reject me they would have just done it already. Does anyone have any experience with being "postponed?" Any thoughts on writing a LOCI after being postponed?

I'm above both 75ths too but I wrote an optional essay and am not KJD.pmacob wrote:Since we're back on the topic of interviews, this was discussed earlier in the thread, but I am pretty sure GULC uses interviews for some candidates as a YP issue. I received a request for an Alumni Interview today and I am well above both of Georgetown's 75ths. I also didn't write a "Why Georgetown" or any other optional essays, so I am sure they are questioning the legitimacy of my interest in Georgetown; I am also a KJD however.

Oops, I hope not. I politely declined the interview because I work a million hours a week.pmacob wrote:Since we're back on the topic of interviews, this was discussed earlier in the thread, but I am pretty sure GULC uses interviews for some candidates as a YP issue. yeah me too. I did write an optional essay though, so I hope that suffices to put any doubts about whether I'm serious about Gtown to rest.fra wrote:Oops, I hope not. This I'm curious about. Why do some candidates receive Alumni interviews and other receive group interviews? Is it simply random, or do they have specific reasons for assigning a candidate to one or the other?lmj009 wrote:I can understand doing Alumni interviews, but I don't really get the group ones. If a candidate is really borderline admit or borderline YP, I don't see how a group interview can evaluate anyone (unless they're curious as to whether you can dress yourself and adhere to social norms?). It just seems weird, especially since when I got my invite to one they said "if you can't come, we will in no way hold it against you and your application will continue to move forward in the process."
