How did you guys find out? Email, status checker?

Thank you for your interest in SMU Dedman School of Law. After a careful review of your application, the Admissions Committee would like to offer you a place on our waitlist with the hope that seats will open before classes begin on August 25, 2014. Each year the number of qualified applicants to SMU Dedman Law School greatly exceeds the number of available seats in the first-year class. As a result, the Admissions Committee is simply unable to offer admission to all applicants who possess the qualifications necessary to become a successful law student at SMU.

So that we might be able to accurately gauge the interest of the applicants on our waitlist, please notify the Office of Admissions if you do not wish to remain on the wait list by clicking here. Statements of continued interest may be submitted by clicking here and will be added to your application for the Admissions Committee’s consideration. Phone messages and drop-in visits are less effective.

Please keep your contact information up-to-date, as we may need to contact you quickly in the event that a seat becomes available. We will inform you as soon as any admission decision is made. Applicants on the waitlist are not ranked and we are generally not able to tell you what your “chances” are to be admitted.

I know this is off topic but has anyone else gotten into Texas Tech and on their Admitted Students FB page? Dean Perez is so engaging and welcoming, its really refreshing to see! I actually thought about going to the ASW just because their admins have been so nice (I don't plan on going though lol). But I would think if the SMU admins did the same on the FB page, a lot more people would get engaged as well. Again, this is a complete random post.

strange: rejected from smu but accepted to higher ranked schools including Washington University in St. Louis. I really wanted to go to SMU but oh well. Hopefully I get off Northwestern's hold list.

When I was waitlisted last year I just attached a word document in an email for my LOCI. Good luck

Lots of movement this week! I'm curious as to when those who have been rejected/waitlisted submitted their apps? I think SMU prefers early applicants which could be why those of you with competitive numbers got that decison? I'm not sure, but here's to hoping that those of you on the waitlists get off!!

I had my application ready to go to submit as soon as I knew my score from the October 2013 LSAT. I really like Dallas...
