You're assuming I care about stats. Cid was the "dragoon" and Yuffie was the "ninja." All I needed to know.
Such bliss.
Did you also take down Ruby weapon just because he looked like a bad guy?

Yes, unless you selected two different times. Then you're rolling the dice - hopefully you don't get KB twice! I heard she's less friendly the second time through.

Well it certainly wasn't for the prestige.

*Sigh* I am rooting for all you guys to be accepted at H. I would love to chat about games with you all!

I need you guys' help getting Vincent and beating that underwater weapon.
ETA: Way to revive the old CLS applicants thread, btw.

I haven't beat Ruby yet, but if I did it would be exclusively because of his USNWR ranking.

Getting Vincent? Don't you just talk to his coffin a bunch of times and he joins your party?

His coffin!?
I think I need to revisit this game.
ETA: I found Yuffie--that's pretty good, right?

Yuffie always appears in the first forrest after the snake-in-the-swamp bit, so
finding her isn't much of an accomplishment.
However, if you got her to join your party the first time through the dialog without any outside help, THAT would be an accomplishment.

I remember a lot of reloading, so probably not.
Boy, I'm glad this didn't come up with KB...

Ah. I'm pretty sure my copy is from the early 'oughts, before it started to become rare.

Not too long ago, PSN had a 50% off sale on a bunch of FF titles due to it being FF 25th anniversary or something. I should have bought VII then, but forgot to. Still, there is something about owning a physical copy of a game. I feel the same way about books.

I emulated ff7 and it was the best thing ever. Having played through ff2-7 as a kid, replaying it recently was pretty amazing. It's easily one of the best games overall that I've ever played. Except WoW of course.

I'm sure future TLSers trembling under the weight of being recently waitlisted at Harvard are going to find this thread incredibly insightful

They'll have more than their fair share of insights from the google spreadsheet alone, so I say game on.
P.S. Now writing this (and thinking about it) it feels like we're speaking through time itself and into the future!

I've been looking for a good ps emulator for Mac but haven't found one... I had to sell a lot of my games for money back in the day

We can't make it too easy to find information. Someone needs to sift through the posts as though panning for gold in a river of information.

Don't you have $150k at NU? Chicago beat that?
They didn't beat it, but they up my offer by a pretty considerable amount and it was enough to sway me. If I wanted to work in the Midwest it would be a no-brainer to go to NU, but I want to come back to TX when it's all said and done and Chicago's TX placement numbers have been substantially better than NU's numbers for each of the past 4 years.

Do we know of anyone who has already been accepted off of the wait list? Or are they doing this batch of interviews then raining down acceptances?

No word of anyone accepted off the waitlist, but there would be no reason to expect/hope for that kind of action until after the deposit deadline. That's what the waitlist is for.
