Well, I just submitted my Rothman application.
It's due Friday, January 25th, 2013 (11:59:59 PST) for those who skipped past that part. USC trying to be as ambiguous as possible too - I'm pretty sure that 11:59:59 PST is a second before midnight but come on you wanna make things hard for people who use military time, don't cha? Throw an AM/PM at us.

+1 I wonder if/when we'll hear back. My essay was a shitshow. Their interview dates are right in the middle of the week so I wonder if they'll give the finalists a head up to make arrangements with school/work.

last year's finalist turned it down for stanford- i think he was a URM with a 4.0/172? could be wrong. xneonx or something.
Thanks twinkle. much appreciated as always -- good luck with your rothman app. Seems like we have basically the same application activity throughout these threads.. it'll be an interesting spring.

I think I will likely be withdrawing from UCLA fairly soon so I hope you get my spot!

I really have no idea where I'd want to live in LA. Downtown is fun for the nightlife, but that would get expensive very fast on negative income.

Culver City area is the best bang for your buck and right near the 10 and 405. Best location to live IMO.

Rent there would be insane. Luckily, if I wanted to live in Venice, I know someone with property there, it's just a question of whether or not they have a renter at that time...

Don't know much about LA but all these prices make W&L and rent in Lexington so appealing (~$500 for a one bedroom

)

Make sure to visit so it's not infested or a drug den... but otherwise, I've lived in Culver City since graduating UCLA in 2010 and I love it.

I think I would look for a place in Silverlake but dproduct's endorsement of Culver City has me intrigued.
