I was waitlisted earlier this week... in state 3.9/160. I received an email and my status changed.

Good luck to all still waiting!

166/3.6/IS

I got my acceptance email on Friday, March 23. I attended the open house the following Friday and learned this...

Met one Brown grad with a 162 who was accepted the same Friday and received money (on top of IST) the following Wednesday; a UT grad (who also go into UT law) who received money the same Wednesday (OOST); and a UF grad who said her LSAT was above the 75th percentile and who'd received money in addition to IST (also saw her at the Emory open house). All 3 were accepted 3/23, and (interesting) had been teachers through teach for America.

Under review also with almost exactly the same stats, Tarheel 2012, but I'm in state.

Also is the admissions office closed tomorrow?

I went to visit the week before my acceptance and Jennifer told me that with the wait list the more you stay in contact the better your chances. She wants to remember your name, etc. I was offered half schols at WFU and Emory and IST at W&M so I let her know and she "put it in my file".. I think that helped, she referred to them as "hard hitters".

it's funny how no more speculation is made in this forum after being told that the admissions office is closed today. Good luck everyone and Happy Easter.

Guess I can finally post something and contribute to these conversations:

My status changed to under review this morning but ironically, I jumped the gun a bit and called before the status change. I was told I got accepted and should receive an email later today or tomorrow, so perhaps they'll announce more decisions for everyone soon. I submitted my application in October, so they haven't forgotten about us. Good luck to everyone and hopefully we'll be seeing each other at UNC this fall.

Maybe I got an answer because they are sending me an email today or tomorrow. My status changed to under review after I hung up the phone, but I haven't gotten the official email yet.

congrats on the acceptance! a fellow phd applicant here with similar numbers so not sure if i should keep hope or not. i did apply much later than you so who knows.

i talked to jennifer kott and she seemed pretty tight lipped about admissions. told her that i've gotten into emory and boston college and was hoping to get an update from UNC so i can make my decision. she basically told me that those are great schools and that if i can't wait to hear back from UNC, i should just go with either of those schools. perhaps this was her "subtle" way of telling me i'm not getting in?

Maybe try emailing Dean States? From the above posts, it looks like he is being pretty open about telling people if they are going to be waitlisted.

Dean States was in fact who I talked to but I hesitate to encourage people to call him. If a flood of phone calls go through his office, then he's of course not going to respond to them all because he has much more important things to do. I didn't ask for him, he just happened to be the one who picked up the phone when I called. In fact, I thought he was the office secretary the whole time! So I guess you could say that I got lucky when Dean States answered the phone and it just happened to be on the same day my status was being updated.
I was forced to call since I was offered a research position at Duke and had to respond by today whether they should book me plane tickets/hotel for orientation. Outside of this forced decision deadline, I never would have called as I think it is rather unprofessional.

I guess to make it official, I just got the acceptance email. I won't be at ASD on Friday as I now have to spend the weekend having a garage sale to downsize before our move to NC. Anyone need a bedroom set?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
