We are on the corner of 19th and K...about 2 blocks from GW (or so I'm told, I've only lived in DC for about 6 months)...I checked out the picture of the ATL office on keystone and it looks pretty amazing. It's interesting to get your opinion - the only reason I applied to Emory is that I really enjoy working for McKenna and would like to re-join after graduation (had I known UGA was comparable I would have applied there too!!). I'm interested in corporate law so ATL would be my target destination.vbc515 wrote:Where are the DC offices located, btw? I went to GWU for UG so I'm pretty familiar with the city. Yeah, that's pretty much GW territory.bruinsfan4 wrote: We are on the corner of 19th and K...about 2 blocks from GW (or so I'm told, I've only lived in DC for about 6 months)...I checked out the picture of the ATL office on keystone and it looks pretty amazing. Emory would definitely be a great option if you want to end up at McKenna. However, they have so many damn offices (aside from ATL and DC - NYC, Albany, Denver, LA, SF, Santa Fe, Irvine...we also just did a merger with a California firm Luce Forward so we added a whole bunch of new offices in CA as well) that really, you could end up back at the firm at any number of places. Oh, and an office in Brussels, too!

Our student health services is also right across the street from you. That's too funny, all these years I had no idea...

Brussels, of course!! Actually, one of my other attractive options is UC Davis (I have family in the area, otherwise I would be locked in at Emory already), which is close to our SF and newly acquired Luce SF offices so, like you said...many options.....I'm not sure how I should be billing "talked about law school on Top Law Schools forum"

My financial aid has been stuck at "Inquiry access denied" on Opus....
Anyone know how long it actually takes to process and post. I sent an email to my financial aid advisor on Tuesday and haven't heard back yet?

My financial aid says the same when I try to view it. I also emailed my financial aid advisor and have not received a reply, so hopefully everything will be processed soon. Who is going to ASD next week?

here! I'm hoping it won't be so rainy that weekend, are you attending any of the "pre-visiting day" events?VanillaBear wrote:My financial aid says the same when I try to view it. I'm going to the Friday night event. I only have to drive a little over an hour to get to Emory, so I figured I should go.

Since I am now 10 minutes away, I am going to try to make Friday and Saturday (all depends on my husbands work schedule and childcare).VanillaBear wrote:I'm going to the Friday night event. I only have to drive a little over an hour to get to Emory, so I figured I should go.

Re: Emory c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Hey yall, I was recently accepted to Emory Law (with $60k!
) and am on the verge of sending in a deposit, even though I'm still waiting to hear from Vanderbilt and also trying to solicit some scholly money from Michigan.
I am originally from metro ATL but am very unfamiliar with the Emory campus and the Decatur area in general. Obviously, attending the admitted students event next weekend would be ideal for me to check everything out, but I'm unable to make it. Are there any other on-campus events or receptions for admitted students?
Edit: I tried e-mailing the admissions office, but no response...though perhaps this should be expected with how busy they are right now.

I'm doing one of these because I can't go to ASW

Likely not as good, but better than nothing.

Nothing really significant in that regard. My application was definitely unusual though in a number of ways, so I expected it to hurt me at some schools and help me at others. My cycle has gone pretty much as expected (based solely on the numbers), except for this. Anyone know how Emory is with scholarship offers if accepted off of the waitlist?SarahT wrote:???josh43299 wrote:Waitlisted 3.27/170

Neither did I. I will be going to UW this weekend for their ASD.

Wish I could go to the ASD. Just got Emory's packet in mail with a nice scholarship offer. Just jumped to my number 1 pick

Do you both mind if I ask what your numbers are? Emory is definitely one of my top targets (applying next cycle) and I just like to stay up to date on how people are doing with what numbers. Thanks in advance.sandlot wrote:Wish I could go to the ASD. Just got Emory's packet in mail with a nice scholarship offer. Just jumped to my number 1 pick

Anyone doing the Color Run in Atlanta this Saturday? I know it's ASW, but I figured maybe some other Atlantans might be running?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
