Applied mid-November. Had an interview a few weeks ago, complete 11/29. Received the informational booklet in the mail today. What does that mean? I would think they would have sent the information BEFORE I started freaking out and hoping for a black box. Anyone?

I think they send the view book to everyone who applies. It doesn't reflect your chances.

As one of those 2 grads I can confirm what the website says: we started LST after seeing the very positive response to Vandy's decision to release a nearly complete list of all the employers who hired Class of 2007 grads. Our idea was that if more schools followed their example we could substantially increase the level of disclosure that's out there and make sure people have enough data to make an informed decision. We're still working on that same basic goal two years later. Vanderbilt has consistently worked at staying ahead of the curve and we're optimistic that they'll continue seeing positive returns (which keeps the incentive to continue disclosing this stuff in greater detail). The detail wrt the post-grad stipends is particularly strong... most of the top programs have been offering this sort of safety net for years but Vanderbilt's is one of the better ones, both in terms of monthly stipend and duration. Anyone looking to do PI should contact the school and ask for more information as to the jobs obtained through the public service initiative. See if they can send you a full list including employers and location; it would be interesting to know what kind of jobs were obtained (other than mine).

@observationalist, thank you for starting LST and the work you guys have put into it... as an 0L, the site has played a pretty big factor in my law school decision process.

ETA: Any idea on when the c/o 2010 data will become available? (Since I feel like a lot of the c/o 2009 already had offers from their 1L summers in 2007 and it might not be an accurate reflection of what the c/o 2015 might go through in the future.)

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the clarification. I think/hope schools will respond to your request. I'll be sending emails to schools I've been admitted to.

Samesies. Nashville is my hometown, where I want to practice, and where I want to raise my family. Vandy with a good scholarship ranks above most of the T10 for me. And yet no news.

I right with you ^^^. Vanderbilt has been my #1 choice forever. I would legitimately choose Vandy over any other law school. Completed 10/31 and still haven't heard anything. Hoping I will AT LEAST get waitlisted...

I was in the same position - top choice, would love to be in Nashville.

I sent a very nice e-mail (brief, but mentioning it's my top choice and saying why I was hoping to hear back soon) and heard back the next day saying I should be hearing soon. Of course, I didn't know what soon meant at the time, but the next week I received my acceptance package. Now I'm planning a visit and hoping to be in Nashville next year.

All that to say, it may be worthwhile to reexpress interest. I don't have a clue whether my contact made any difference or not, but it was my favorite Christmas present.

Sorry for not responding sooner, but you're welcome. Plenty of others are doing great work out there as well and we certainly weren't the first, but I'm glad to see so many more applicants taking a serious look at the employment outcomes and demanding better information this year. Just checked out another thread where people are compiling the available information from all law schools so that people can compare. We're working on something similar that will hopefully be of help this cycle.

Once we have everything compiled, I strongly recommend that people contact the schools you've been accepted to and request to see whatever employment info is missing from their websites. You'd be surprised how many schools carry a great reputation but are less than forthcoming about telling you what their graduates do for work. G'luck to all this cycle.

I got an email a few months after with employment info, but nothing else I think. I can't imagine you not getting in!
