Josh, you may have mentioned this previously but I see from your profile that you were accepted to several T14 schools and obviously chose MN over them. What compelled you to do this?

Rejected; 166/3.45
Decisions a bit easier now, I guess.
Good luck to fellow applicants.

I'm taking my LSAT in June and definitely banking on 168+... Just kinda started looking at UM, this seems like a really great school that is slight under valued by some. Does anyone know what the name recognition of UM law is? I know it has a great ranking, but honestly, I never would have even thought it'd be at 20th, thats really impressive. Anyone wanna comment on how it stands on name recognition/national awareness?

Anyone remember how quickly UM gets back with reimbursements for ASW? Blanket $300 seems so glorious until the numbers add up....last minute flight from boston will be the death of me...

Waitlisted, but from what I can see the WL process at UM is automatic...? Should I still send an LOCI, couldn't hurt right...?

I'll be flying in tomorrow and Holiday Inn-ing as well...unless my flight gets delayed because of snow (and now I have to go find some wood to knock on). I've never been to the middle of the country before so I'm really excited to see Minneapolis and get a chance to check out the school!ThreeRivers wrote:Can't wait to see the city, school, and meet some of you!

May be outside of downtown, but if you guys have a car, make sure you hit up Matt's Bar and get yourself a Jucy Lucy. Best. Burger. Ever.

So, ummm, awkward question...what are thoughts for clothing this weekend? I'd really rather not wear a suit and am hoping people will be chill with biz cash?

Suit bro all the way.
Lol, the common advice seems to be "dress as if meeting your gf parents for first time at the cheesecake factory." anything from business casual to Jeans with a nice shirt will probably work

On the admitted students facebook it says business casual or nice jeans, but I'm sure a suit would work too.

Evil east coast weather makes me wonder if I'm going to even get to Minneapolis!

There is a gopher men's hockey game vs. wisconsin. Mariucci arena is about a 10 minute walk east of the law school.ThreeRivers wrote:No car but any reccomendations on anything to do that's close to the law school? I'll have a couple of hours to kill on friday night

Other than that, there is the bar scene, it's friday night so it will be crazy wherever you go. If you like art you should check out the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, one of the best places in Minneapolis IMO. You would have to cab/bus it though.

I'll be bringing people to the bar after TORT. You won't be able to avoid me Friday, as I'll be doing stuff for your ASW. so just let me know if you want to go out.

Just wear dark jeans and a sweater/button down. It's going to be a long day. Don't bother dressing up more than that.Jaeger wrote:ThreeRivers wrote:Suit bro all the way.
