Complete in early October, no status checker yet either.
This is weird. Have you called?
Well the email said, "You will receive an email from our office in 3-4 weeks with your University of Michigan ID Number and the URL to our Online Status Checker."

I'm going to wait until after the 4 week mark to call (in a couple days). I'm guessing the wait is related to UMich Law Admissions moving their office which was alluded to by another poster on a previous page.

Seriously still cannot believe this. My first (fingers still crossed) acceptance of the cycle is to my dream school? Yes, please.

I know I'm late but I browsed the first 15-16 pages of the thread and haven't found an answer. They only let you submit two essays so if I submit my addendum for GPA and LSAT (Which I really want to include) and my DS, is it going to hurt me if I don't include a Why? essay? Was hoping to get this in today.

Congrats!!! Now take a deep sigh of relief and go celebrate!!

BTW, does anyone know if Michigan does admit waves once per day or throughout the day?

+1, this would be nice to know so that I don't have to neurotically check if I can access the ASW every few minutes.

Xifeng said somewhere that Michigan will show the current date on your status checker when they won't be reviewing your file any further that day. Mine says 11/3, so I assume there won't be any good news until at least tomorrow.

But for good measure I just checked the Admitted Students Site again.

While it would make sense that having access to the ASW indicates acceptance, and I am happy I have access to it, I somehow feel uncomfortable assuming that I was admitted since it seems a rather strange loophole. It's like it's a test: see who is neurotic and checks the website before s/he gets the letter.

Congrats to everyone that got in!! That's amazing!

Just got the status checker email. Was starting to get concerned about not hearing anything at all from Michigan.

ETA: Is there an under review status for Mich?

I looked at the FAQs of the ASW and I didn't see an answer telling you that if you can see this website, then that means you got in. Oh well...

Congrats to those of you lucky peeps who got in! I'm super jealous... I just got the Status Checker e-mail (finally). For those of you with the "Decision" status, approx. how long did it take for your status to change from "complete" to "decision"?

If you can log into the Admitted Students site, you're in. It's been that way since several years before I got in...two years ago.

While I sympathize with not being convinced 100% based on access to the ASW, I think that access, plus the letter in the ASW saying 'congratulations', PLUS the notification that an 'offer of admission' was mailed to your address yesterday is a pretty good sign.

I'm obviously not going to feel 100% convinced until that letter is in my hand, but i'm still celebrating tonight...

I'm not sure about the help/hurt part, but you can always condense the documents so you only have two attachments. Just make sure to have the page breaks/titles correctly so it looks like all three separate documents. Just Copy and paste your DS after your Why Mich essay (or whichever combo you want to make it). That way you can submit everything you want.

Congrats to everyone getting in!

What in the world. I have a SECOND status check email. I'm not sure how that happened, but this makes me nervous.

Okay. So. I can get into the ASW, but my online status check says Complete, not Decision. Does that mean - gasp - I'm admitted? Mail already came for today, nothing in it, but I do live "way out" in Seattle..... ??? Dare I hope???

This may be an appropriate time for this post... Last year there were several group-think freakouts on TLS with people applying to Michigan. Including people interpreting status e-mails to mean they were waitlisted. (Michigan will typically send an e-mail if you've been under consideration for a while just to say they haven't forgotten about you.) In another instance, a poster on TLS lied about the admissions office threatening her if she tried to be released from ED. http://www.law.umich.edu/connection/a2z ... 397d820295

They received dozens of panicked calls from TLS people asking the same questions. In the end, it took several e-mails from me to the admissions office (and Dean Z's blog post) to finally quell everyones fears. This cannot and should not happen again. Our admissions office is not out to get you. They are probably the most down-to-earth people in the profession. I know it's hard, but try not to read motives into every little situation or occurrence. If you are concerned about something or have a question, do not rant/rave on TLS and try to work others up. Either call the office yourself or PM me/another current student (if you are so afraid to do so) and we will contact the admissions office with your question. They won't bite, I promise.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
