$20k/year if I stay in the top half of the class. Way more than I was expecting.

Re: Temple 2011
Thanks for letting me know this! I was going to see how much scholarship I could get for OOS the first year but now I will just apply for PA residency from the start. I have a full-time offer in Philly after graduation from the firm I will be working at during school (PT) and will be getting my pharmacist license in PA so hopefully that will be enough. I wasn't planning on buying any property until next year after I get married but I guess OOS for one year is the worst case scenario...but I guess I should figure out how being a PA resident might affect getting a marriage license if I'm getting married in NJsidewaysglance wrote:you don't automatically qualify as a PA resident after one year. You have to have lived in PA for 12 consecutive months OUTSIDE of school (meaning you are not a student) in order to become a PA resident for tution purposes. I am a 1L at Temple and have a lot of friends who are dealing with this issue right now. Some went to undergrad and now law school in PA, but didn't take time off in between, and they still can't get PA residency status for instate tuition or work-study supplements through PHEEA.NJPharmD2011 wrote:Does anyone know if you automatically qualify for in-state tuition after one year or do you still have to fill out that Pennsylvania resident application?

Finally got scholly info. $7,500 per year. Such BS. Definitely not worth it for a T2 school. I'm out.

Anyone think Temple gives in-state preference to applicants?

Re: Temple 2011
i am going to say no, simply bc i am not a PA resident and i was accepted. i do think there are a lot more scholarship available to PA residents that i am shut out of. and it is difficult for non-residents to get PA residency after 1L. but in terms of actually accepting people, not one bit.classix wrote:Anyone think Temple gives in-state preference to applicants?

i know they don't necessarily favor splitters, because I am still waiting. It seems that they do not give out much money to anyone regardless of in state or out of state, which overall is much less detrimental to in staters.

Looked at the status checker this morning and I was still at complete. Looked at the status checker 20 minutes ago and I was admitted WTF? Does this happen ever, where you don't go In Review and go straight to admitted?

Got in Monday and received packet today. Received 2500 a year in scholarship. I was expecting a bit more than that.
