I went "Decision Mailed" on 3/11.
Do they send denials via regular mail as well? Santa Clara was a long shot for me, so I'm assuming a rejection.

Re: Santa Clara University 2014
You know, Santa Clara has been one of my top choices for a LOOOOONG time, and I've been really excited about the prospect of going to the school next year, but I just have to say that I've been so turned off by the admissions staff that I'm really second guessing myself.
I've contacted them on a variety of issues, and they've been way less than helpful in each and every single one of my correspondences with them. They just don't seem to care about anything! They've really come off as a completely lackluster office, especially when I compare them to the other schools that I've been in communication with. I'm going to the ASW this weekend hoping that the rest of their departments aren't so...for lack of a better word, BLAH, as they are, but so far this year my experiences with Santa Clara have left a bad taste in my mouth.
Okay, /rant.

That's interesting. I have had nothing but great experiences with them and have found them to be incredibly accommodating. Sorry to hear you've had a different experience.swilson215 wrote:You know, Santa Clara has been one of my top choices for a LOOOOONG time, and I've been really excited about the prospect of going to the school next year, but I just have to say that I've been so turned off by the admissions staff that I'm really second guessing myself.

In, I got my invite to the e-campus before I was notified of acceptance. I really want to be in California so this is a top contender. They didnt have my financial aid file ready. Is this typical and do they normally include any scholarship offers with acceptance?
EXCITED for my first acceptance! Now only 1242 schools left to hear from

Not good. 152/2.98. Although I've been out of school awhile, and have lots of relevant work experience.red_alertz wrote:what's ur stats? i've been in committee for a long time now and no response
Like I said, SCU is a long shot for me. I was just suprised to see Decision Mailed... I assumed they would send a denial/wait list via email.

Re: Santa Clara University 2014
I sent my LSAC file in on deadline 2/1. Went complete 2/14. Accepted (Well e-campus notification) today
Came home to an Emery merit offer of $16,500. Elated until I saw their tuition was $41,000. Now I'm like wheres the beef? But im playing it cool to see if I get offered any need based grants.
If you rather have it in visual form:
1/30
2/1.
2/14
3/14
3/14
Ongoing

Re: Santa Clara University 2014
I was just accepted last week! And although I'm a little .... disappointed in the scholly offer (13,500), I'm still interested in SCU. Does anyone have any info on their international law program? I see that they offer a lot but have no idea if the program is good. Also has anyone had any luck with negotiating their aid package?

Has anyone been able to get the "top 25%" stipulation removed from their Emery Scholarship?

When I sent them a negotiation email I asked about removing the stips, and they didn't even acknowledge that question.fragged wrote:Has anyone been able to get the "top 25%" stipulation removed from their Emery Scholarship?

So, I went into committee today (2nd time) and then a few hours later my status went to decision mailed.
Should I assume it's a no go? Seems like everyone else that was accepted received the info through their status....

Re: Santa Clara University 2014
I got it too. It doesn't really look too good for us I don't think. But if you go back to like page 15 and earlier it looks like the status checker would update to decision mailed, and then a few days later it would switch over to admitted/deny I guess. So there's still a tiny bit of hope. But it seems like more recently it's just been switcing right over to admitted. I'm personally not really getting my hopes up. Good luck though!toomanyshoes wrote:So, I went into committee today (2nd time) and then a few hours later my status went to decision mailed.![]()

Earlier on in the cycle that's exactly how it went. Usually like 3 or four days after I think... Maybe 5, I don't remember, but you guys shouldn't get too worried. Unless they changed how they run things since December.

I have been "in committee" for months. Santa Clara is my first choice since I need to be near home (and I didn't even bother applying to Stanford). If they don't want me, I'd like to know now so I can retake the LSAT.
