Re: IN AT The University of Texas Class of 2014
I submitted a scholarship matching request and got word that it was denied. Boo. I didn't have anything ranked above UT to leverage, but I did have a full scholarship from a school in the top 30 plus some lesser schollys. I'd be happy to share details via pm. Hope everyone else has better luck. I'll probably be at UT next year anyway, but it would have been nice to have a few extra $$ to sweeten the deal.

Last Wednesday. Maybe your answer is yes so it's taking longer?

Maybe. Maybe I'm just borderline and they're waiting to see how much money is left over.rupret1 wrote:Last Wednesday. Maybe your answer is yes so it's taking longer?

E-mail. Now I'm wishing I hadn't already withdrawn from the schools I wasn't considering. I didn't send those for the matching since I'd withdrawn and I did explain my situation, but I'm thinking it might have influenced the decision. C'est la vie.

My sent in T14 offers which probably made a difference. However they did a straight match, I was hoping they would beat the offers.

Negotiation successful. Will provide details via PM if you're negotiating yourself.

How does one negotiate as an IS resident who already pays a lower tuition rate?

I am more interested in the 26% unemployment rate and $100,000 median salary at SULC.bleedblue wrote:http://www.usnews.com/education/best-gr ... -links:TOP

Texas really is a great deal though.
Side note, they should publish both median and mean private sector salary.

So I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Austin and I really loved it! I had never been to Austin before and it seemed just as awesome as I'd always heard. Everyone I met at UT was extremely friendly and all the students seemed happy to be there. Plus, I had meetings with a few professors and Dean Sager, and I was very impressed. I'm definitely leaning towards Texas right now...

True. This doesn't seem overall like the most thought out list on second glance... but many say that about the other rankings as well...r6_philly wrote:I am more interested in the 26% unemployment rate and $100,000 median salary at SULC.bleedblue wrote:http://www.usnews.com/education/best-gr ... -links:TOP

Sorry to hear that. I hope you make a good choice for next year and are happy where you end up.SunshineKid wrote:SunshineKid wrote:i just got a letter in the mail today from the LSAC saying through 'no fault' of their own, my application was lost and never received by UT... but they will send it next week and i'll be considered....

I'm looking for an apartment in Austin and I feel totally lost. I would like to be in a building with other law students but I have no idea where they usually live?...

Re: IN AT The University of Texas Class of 2014
I went down and looked recently and apparently they are spread out all over the place. I know many live just north of campus, but a lot of that stuff is really old and pretty much a dump. If you want to live somewhere new then you will have to be farther away. There are condos close to campus and some are pretty nice but it's pretty much a crapshoot if they've been updated in the last 30 years.giddybiscuit wrote:I'm looking for an apartment in Austin and I feel totally lost.
