I think they only call (not sure about people not in the US though).

I got dinged, too--in New England.

They rejected me for undergrad AND law school, sweet!

Actually not devastated at all--hoping for H or S now though!

Just submitted my app. I have to stay, the whole law school application process is really taxing on someone with OCD.

also, can anyone confirm whether letters are universally bad, or whether good news comes in the mail too?

good news comes in the mail only if you have been accepted via phone.

a massive binder arrives about a week and half after the phone call with a letter signed by dean asha.

Okay guys, at the risk of sounding incredibly stupid:

For question 9 on the Yale application, should we check "yes" if we have had friends look over our personal statement/diversity statement/Yale 250?

I want to be as forthright as possible, but do not think that editing assistance is what the question is looking for.

Should I just check "yes" and then explain the nature of the help?

I think no. It's talked about in the blog, and it seems to imply that they are looking for editting services and admissions consulting more so than your friends looking over it.

For my application, I wrote "Yes, I had friends and colleagues read and comment upon my personal statement and my
250 word essay." It was easy enough and it covers all the bases.

No. Check out one of their recent twitter posts. Just get it in as quickly as possible. The only thing required at the deadline is submission through LSAC.
