Lizzie, did you write a "Why W&L" or specialize your app at all for 'em?

Nope. I did not specialize my app for them. In fact, I wasn't sure I was going to apply when I remembered they had said the app fee was free. I specialized for a couple of others including W&M and ironically, those are the ones I haven't heard from yet.

It was later in the cycle...perhaps that had something to do with it, especially since a few reverse-splitters were let in early already. Also do you have a clean C&F record? Some people with great numbers were denied/WL because of C&F issues.

It is a bit crazy how they are even concerned with speeding tickets...

Yeah my C&F is clean, I have a TS-SCI clearance valid for another 11 months, so there's zero doubt about that, LOL. I've never even had a parking ticket let alone a moving violation. Ever. No nothing.

I'm sure it was just the lateness factor because I did submit *really* late in the cycle compared to most people, I guess they just exhausted how many low 160s they could absorb and not ruin their median.

If the numbers in your profile are accurate, I think you have a strong chance.. I got in with a lower GPA and same LSAT. Either way, good luck!

I'm worried they'll kill me on C&F though. It's weird, they're the only school I've heard of that's being that strict on that kind of stuff.

They have an incredibly strong honor code. Its so strong that they even allow for take home exams. They have to make sure they are admitting the most honest, most responsible students. But I dont think a couple of tickets will make them think any less of you.

I'm not sure yet. I'd like to go in March, but it'll depend on my grandmother. She's from not too far from W&L, and I wanted to take her down to spend some time with her family while I'm at the ASW. I hope March works for her, though.

In at W&L:
161
3.38
URM
Have my MBA

Just wanted to get the scoop on the school from other people. I won't be down there until one of the admitted students weekends, and I don't know any current students.

Congrats!!! :D It's a great school from what I've read and heard from others on here. Do you think you'll be heading there in the fall?

No idea. I have to visit, and Im not really sure what I am looking for in law school quite yet. I threw out a big fishnet (20 apps) to see what I could catch. I have only hear back from W&L and W&M (in at both). My only criteria were "east coast and top 35" lol. I have only visited GWU and GULC so far. I am very excited for the admit weekend though.

I don't know too many alum or current law school students, so this is all new to me. I am definitely going to wait for my other apps, visits, and scholarship $$s to make a decision. I also retook the LSAT saturday and will submit the higher score.

That's good starting criteria! I would say maybe start thinking about different concentrations that interest you & see if they are offered, or private bs public sector as well as where you wish to practice after graduation- just some ideas where to start in finding what you want out of law school. GL with the rest of your apps & maybe I'll see you at ASW!

Weather here in Lex is pretty rough today for those waiting on decisions...don't know if admissions will be working this afternoon or not.

Pretty sure itll appear in your status checker before you get the email. Check them at the same time if you can.

They are doing it early today. Must be because of the weather?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
