So even though you can't stand the thought of living in nyc and you think the people living in nyc are insufferable? enjoy hating the rest of your life.CastleRock wrote:Because I want the best education I can get, and I believe NYC schools will probably be this for me.

I think most of the kids who go to school with me who grew up in the city are crazy. I also think NY people are overly self-obsessed in general. But it's NYC. There are a lot of things to do and a lot of people who have moved there. I'm sure I'll find my niche

ANY city in Asia. You see the point of me not wanting to live there.starrydreamz3 wrote:I just like to listen to the crazy people rant on the subways. =D
Show me another city that has commuters quite as entertaining and maybe I'll make a change.

Seriously. Guys, NYC is really not that bad unless you can't handle crowds. And the Village isn't that bad, either. Unless you don't like hipsters or gay people, in which case...yeah.Lwoods wrote:Ouch. NYers aren't perfect, but you could do a lot worse. I miss the city like whoa. It's the island of misfit toys; you can be as weird as you want there and it's celebrated.CastleRock wrote:I can't stand the thought of living in nyc, and that's most likely where I will end up. Here's hoping we both get to make the decision between the Upper West Side and the Village!
If it would pain you so much to go to NYU Law and be *stuck* in the village, I will gladly take your seat. thanks.
And I'm from Ohio and saying this, so seriously. Also, I don't think this thread is the best one for anti-NYC comments XD
You will all be here next year and you will be fine.

How about the people who absolutely HATE NYC and think we're insufferable not apply to NYU and give the rest of us a better shot?hipstermafia wrote:So even though you can't stand the thought of living in nyc and you think the people living in nyc are insufferable? enjoy hating the rest of your life.CastleRock wrote:Because I want the best education I can get, and I believe NYC schools will probably be this for me.

I've lived in NY my entire life albeit LI. NYC has its positives and negatives. There are a ton of weirdos and oversensitive liberals but if you can look past that the opportunities are pretty awesome.

Like sophie said, I'm sure I will find my niche. Regardless, I would still like the opportunity to live in a "walking city," somewhere that has a more european type of feel. Where I currently live, the city stretches for miles and miles. You can't get anywhere without a car. I would like the chance to see what it would be like to live on the other end of the spectrum.absolutazn87 wrote:How about the people who absolutely HATE NYC and think we're insufferable not apply to NYU and give the rest of us a better shot?hipstermafia wrote:So even though you can't stand the thought of living in nyc and you think the people living in nyc are insufferable? enjoy hating the rest of your life.CastleRock wrote:Because I want the best education I can get, and I believe NYC schools will probably be this for me.
So yea, I am open to trying new things. All I know is that trips to NYC have enraged me. What is it that you fucking people don't get? Horns are not for blowing just because you feel like it, they serve a purpose other than your personal entertainment!

But I don't like Ohio either.
So Jim Tressel and Lloyd Carr are walking along the beach talking about their schools, and Jim trips on bottle. It ends up being a genie's bottle, and being sporting fellows, they decide to rub it at the same time. Out comes a genie, and he says he'll grant them each one wish. Lloyd gallantly allows Tressel to go first. So he thinks hard and says 'I have it. I wish- that the entire state of Ohio would be surrounded by a wall as high into the air as it is into the ground, so that no Michiganders can come in... Then poof! The genie nods his head and grants his wish, spiriting Tressel off to be within his high fortress walls. He then truns to Carr and asks, 'what is your wish?'
Lloyd smiles and says simply, "fill it with water."

I mean as long as you can laugh at hipsters, you'll be fine. And as long as you can handle ridiculous undergrad boys wearing v-necks down to their bellybuttons and whatnot & laugh, it'll be okay.
You've told that joke before
It was more of a "not all Midwesterners hate NYC, contrary to what TLS seems to indicate." Shocking that TLS isn't always right, haha.
Also: IT'S DECEMBER. OH SHIT.

Though I think they only update once a day. Or at least, most of the other ones seem to only be once a day.
I checked at midnight.
