I'm from mid-west canada, but the same attitude is prevalent here.

So even though you can't stand the thought of living in nyc and you think the people living in nyc are insufferable? enjoy hating the rest of your life.

No, I get this.
I think most of the kids who go to school with me who grew up in the city are crazy. I also think NY people are overly self-obsessed in general. But it's NYC. There are a lot of things to do and a lot of people who have moved there. I'm sure I'll find my niche :)

Show me another city that has commuters quite as entertaining and maybe I'll make a change.
ANY city in Asia. You see the point of me not wanting to live there.

I can't stand the thought of living in nyc, and that's most likely where I will end up. I can easily see how someone would want to leave that city. The people are insufferable.
Ouch. NYers aren't perfect, but you could do a lot worse. I miss the city like whoa. It's the island of misfit toys; you can be as weird as you want there and it's celebrated.

If it would pain you so much to go to NYU Law and be *stuck* in the village, I will gladly take your seat. thanks.
Seriously. Guys, NYC is really not that bad unless you can't handle crowds. And the Village isn't that bad, either. Unless you don't like hipsters or gay people, in which case...yeah.

And I'm from Ohio and saying this, so seriously. Also, I don't think this thread is the best one for anti-NYC comments XD

You will all be here next year and you will be fine.

How about the people who absolutely HATE NYC and think we're insufferable not apply to NYU and give the rest of us a better shot? :D

I've lived in NY my entire life albeit LI. NYC has its positives and negatives. There are a ton of weirdos and oversensitive liberals but if you can look past that the opportunities are pretty awesome.

Like sophie said, I'm sure I will find my niche. Regardless, I would still like the opportunity to live in a "walking city," somewhere that has a more european type of feel. Where I currently live, the city stretches for miles and miles. You can't get anywhere without a car. I would like the chance to see what it would be like to live on the other end of the spectrum.

So yea, I am open to trying new things. All I know is that trips to NYC have enraged me. What is it that you fucking people don't get? Horns are not for blowing just because you feel like it, they serve a purpose other than your personal entertainment!

Yes.
But I don't like Ohio either.

So Jim Tressel and Lloyd Carr are walking along the beach talking about their schools, and Jim trips on bottle. It ends up being a genie's bottle, and being sporting fellows, they decide to rub it at the same time. Out comes a genie, and he says he'll grant them each one wish. Lloyd gallantly allows Tressel to go first. So he thinks hard and says 'I have it. I wish- that the entire state of Ohio would be surrounded by a wall as high into the air as it is into the ground, so that no Michiganders can come in... Then poof! The genie nods his head and grants his wish, spiriting Tressel off to be within his high fortress walls. He then truns to Carr and asks, 'what is your wish?'
Lloyd smiles and says simply, "fill it with water."

I mean as long as you can laugh at hipsters, you'll be fine. And as long as you can handle ridiculous undergrad boys wearing v-necks down to their bellybuttons and whatnot & laugh, it'll be okay.

You've told that joke before :P It was more of a "not all Midwesterners hate NYC, contrary to what TLS seems to indicate." Shocking that TLS isn't always right, haha.

Also: IT'S DECEMBER. OH SHIT.

Dear NYU Law Adcom reading this thread:

I love NYC and I love NYU! Please let me keep giving money to you <3 Since I went to a free undergrad school, I promise that you will be the only school I will or have ever given money to! I promise not to punch any hobos or hipsters during my time at NYU Law.

FTFY

Though I think they only update once a day. Or at least, most of the other ones seem to only be once a day.

I checked at midnight.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
