To update the thread... just got an email for the preferred waitlist. I was held in December.

Regular WL (after interview + hold + almost 4 months of waiting). That's a real sucker punch to the gut.

Ugh. Does it seem like most 'held' candidates are ending up on the waitlist?
After waiting so long for any movement (UR 12/11 -> 2/22 today), I'm now hoping to hear no news that the mailman doesn't bring.

Regular WL via email, got it about a half hour ago...is this basically a soft ding?

It isn't a soft ding. I was placed on the regular WL at the end of March during last year's cycle, then suddenly bumped up to the super preferred WL without sending a LOCI (disclaimer: I'm a URM). You still have a shot at Georgetown.ndirish2010 wrote:Regular WL via email, got it about a half hour ago...is this basically a soft ding?

Is it safe to assume that if you went DR today, didn't receive a WL email, and cannot log in to the admitted students site, then you're dinged? Thanks.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Went DR today (2/22). Applied 11/24, went complete 1/5 (took December LSAT), went under review 2/5 and then again 2/18. Both numbers above 75th, so I'm somewhat optimistic, but the same was true at Duke and I got waitlisted, so I'm not taking it for granted.

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Haven't gone DR yet. However, my status for GULC has been "under review" since december. Then, last week, they changed the "status date" from a date in mid-December to 02/18 but the actual status still says "under review." I'm both confused and frying my nerves. I'm by no means an auto-admit. I've got a GPA and LSAT that are both (very) slightly above their 25%.dk8 wrote:When did you go DR?Baloo wrote:I'm still confused. For GULC, when it says "decision rendered" how long is it until you get notification and is that notification by email or regular mail?

Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
oi, WL as well... what a joke, after stringing me along with an interview, a hold, then endless under-review status updates
Immediately emailed them back to remove me from consideration... I probably should have emailed them earlier, I had no intention of going there once I got into a better option
Best of luck everyone...

Mind explaing what the "preferred WL" is and how they indicate a preferred vs. regular. Sorry if this is basic TLS knowledge.newyorklaw23 wrote:Preferred WL via email.

Is there really a "super preferred WL"?Thirteen wrote:It isn't a soft ding. I tried to logon onto the admitted students website by hitting the no password button and requesting one. It was emailed to my email address and I just logged in successfully. Does this mean I am in for sure, or did I circumvent the system somehow in my feverish frenzy??????

Whoops. I kept clicking the 'Forgot Password' button instead of the 'No Password' button. Looks like it worked and I'm in.

There was last year. Look at Lizface Killah's post about a third of the way down the page.CG614 wrote:Is there really a "super preferred WL"?Thirteen wrote:It isn't a soft ding. Crazy. Anyone know, with a reasonable degree of certainty, how many WLs Georgetown creates? And, if so, the rank of said WLs. Thanks!Thirteen wrote:There was last year. Re: Georgetown 2013/ (2014)
Waitlisted today via email.
Somewhat surprised even though I got this hint since it was taking so long, but my numbers seemed to qualify me 169/3.8 and I'm in at Duke and Michigan(so I probably wasn't going to attend anyway). Proof that theres a lot of randomness

There's a regular WL, a preferred WL, then a "small select group within the preferred WL." As of Wednesday there were 20 people in the select group according to a GULC adcomm, but they've added quite a few since then.CG614 wrote:Crazy. Yeah it seemed low to me too. I noticed a bunch in the last few days but hadn't really noticed many before that, but maybe I wasn't paying close attention.dk8 wrote:20 in the select group? seems like there have been 20 added in the last couple of weeks alonebeef wellington wrote:There's a regular WL, a preferred WL, then a "small select group within the preferred WL."
