Did Columbia play thing "HOLD" game with last year's cycle? I am not finding anything about it on tls

I'm also rather curious. I wonder what it means if this is a new development.

Maybe the HOLDS only went out to those on TLS because they find us obnoxious

That def does not explain why I didn't get a hold, then, because I'm definitely one of the most obnoxious people in this thread XD

Especially if they really are playing that drinking game.

[25th/median/75th]

HOLDS:

LSAT: 169/171/173

GPA: 3.68/3.8/3.9


NON-HOLDS:

LSAT: 170/172/173

GPA: 3.6/3.76/3.88

This is super-misleading: almost all the (non-URM) 168-170 candidates that were held have GPAs at or above the 75th; by contrast, there were a number of numerically weak candidates who were not held.

I think that decisions have been made on the non-held people that CLS' adcom is comfortable with, and some will be getting admitted and some WL/rejected in the near future.

The holds have a long way to go.

hey guys so I just caught up on the last few pages and it seems that a lot of the holds had really high stats, I think its likely that they want to see if you guys are still interested in CLS over HYS without one of the named scholarships...just an opinion but it would make sense

i was just imagining how I would react if i finally get a vce and....i think i'll cry. literally.
then i'll probably become somewhat lazy at my workplace
and will indulge myself with gifts (much needed new laptop + clothing + FOOD etc)
but feel justified with all of my actions because of the fact that I got a VCE!!!

Hate to ask this, but i lost track of this thread when it exploded around page 190 lol. Could someone briefly tell me what hold entails in terms of chances / when we can expect a final decision?

They haven't been able to make a final decision, you should get one by the end of April, and nobody really knows the chances part. The numbers are all over the place.
