Has HLS released decisions on a Saturday in the past?

I wouldn't be surprised this time around since it seems like they're so behind.WordsworthIsBae wrote:Has HLS released decisions on a Saturday in the past?

I understand how JS2 calls would put them behind/be demanding on their time, but it seems like the WL wave is probably as simple as pressing a button to get the mail-merge running. My guess is that they'll release those either today or tomorrow -- no reason to hold off til Saturday. Will they make calls on Saturday? I'm thinking the admissions folks probably have other plans.suitsandpotions wrote:I wouldn't be surprised this time around since it seems like they're so behind.WordsworthIsBae wrote:Has HLS released decisions on a Saturday in the past?

I agree. A WL/Ding wave really shouldn't take that long. My guess is they already have a list of who is getting which but they're sorting through the later applications that haven't been thoroughly reviewed so that they can place them in one of the two groups.dddddd90 wrote:I understand how JS2 calls would put them behind/be demanding on their time, but it seems like the WL wave is probably as simple as pressing a button to get the mail-merge running. Is it evil that I would only find not having an email from HLS more relaxing right now if I knew for sure that a ding wave was going on?seeprybyrun wrote:2:00 Eastern and all's quiet in my inbox...
(I'm not wishing a ding on anyone but not having an email doesn't make me feel any better right now since I know they're just not sending anything out)

I've never read the 4/1 deadline in anything official. That's me, complete 11/15. I'd be thrilled with a WL, but at this point I just want to hear something. I've been bracing myself all week.dddddd90 wrote:I think I may have read on here that the 4/1 deadline only applies to people who went complete in 2016.

Per the application instructions on LSAC, it applies for people who went complete any time before 2/1. Everyone else will hear by the end of April.haley12 wrote:I thought it was only for JS1's? Thanks! FWIW, I don't think anyone who went complete in 2016 and hasn't heard anything yet is gonna be dinged -- probably would have happened in the last two rejection waves. WL is much more likely.cmkk13 wrote:Per the application instructions on LSAC, it applies for people who went complete any time before 2/1. "Application deadline: February 1. We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible after September 15 and well before the February 1 deadline. We can guarantee full consideration for all applications submitted by February 1, and we will permit applications to be filed after the deadline until we can no longer provide full consideration.
Please note that due to the volume of materials we receive, it normally takes several weeks from the time we receive an application to process required materials and to "complete" the application for submission to the Admissions Committee. Applicants whose materials are completed by the February 1 deadline will have a decision rendered by April 1. Applications that become complete after the deadline are not guaranteed to have a decision rendered before April 1."
