Full disclosure: I didn't read the full article.basedvulpes wrote:I don't think you read the article. The matriculation rate for people with scores <150 has increased since 2010.urbanist11 wrote:Those people would still go to law school, just to different schools.

Re: c/o 2019 Applicant Compendium (2015 - 2016)
I don't think the problem is so much that there are too many people going to law school who shouldn't be going to law school, but more that law schools (even the crappiest ones) cost way too much. So, graduates end up with too much debt which can only be paid off by getting the sort of job which they really needed to go to a T1 law school (at least) to have a chance at getting.Generally wrote:Maybe it is pretentious to say, but if you can't get into a semi decent law school, you probably should not be going to law school.

Barley's Dream Journal - Guest Entry:
Subconscience: Lymenheimer
Date: Last Night
TLS pizzeoples: Based, Hilde, Whacka? (another TLSer who has been found on FB, but this is the person I have yet to identify on these fora, or at least I forget who it is), General, and Ben.
Setting: Duke ASD/ASW (but more like orientation).
Location: Nowhere on Duke's campus that I recognize.
Scene opens up to me rushing to get things packed. I throw on a nice button up and some khakis. I leave my bag in the middle of the dormitory hall and head to the grand gallery downstairs, where a bunch of Duke Law soon-to-be-1Ls stand. I have obviously missed the ice-breaker/introduction game and am introduced to a few individuals by another student who basically reads off their name tags which has their name and previous occupation, but he does it with an air of familiarity so it's not uncomfortable, just kinda weird. We go outside to the stone steps and everyone is sitting down (I guess they all teleported and I had to take the slow way and walk). The coordinator asks me my name, I tell him, and he says an incorrect name in response. Apparently I was talking too quietly (this is generally because I try to be aware of my actual verbal communication when I'm sleeping. I often talk, and especially laugh while I'm sleeping, which scares some people, so I try to not be so loud). It takes 3 tries and we finally establish that I am lymenheimer. I look around and see if I recognize anyone. Lo and behold there is Hilde, sitting a few people to my left. She doesn't recognize me. I look around and see the back of Ben's head and General is chattin with someone. I keep looking around and leaning on one of the stone pillars on my left is Whacka[?]. I do not expect recognition, but there is recognition all over that face. "Hey! I know you!" Walking over I hear some unintelligible phrase that everyone decided on but I apparently missed and I reply "m'counselor". Based walks up and scoffs "hah, m'counselor." I don't know why, but cool. We end up going rock climbing, but up a pillar of junk. It starts off as rock, but about 20 feet up it turns into legos and lights, and plants, basically a vertical column of attic junk. Then my dream changed and became no longer relevant to TLS.
edited for clarity/correctness.
