Also rejected this morning via status checker. Not a surprise at all, my only wonder was what was taking them so long.

Re: Michigan c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
I am very confused. Michigan is a total reach for me. My only hope is I go here for undergrad and I wrote some amazing essays. With my numbers I should be auto dinged so why A. Haven't I been rejected yet (complete since 2/15) and B. Why is my status stuck on complete while the bottom says it was already updated?

Considering the length of time I've been following this forum (read: lurking), I don't think we have any historical evidence for what this means. Since all people are reporting is rejection and not "complete", I'm assuming we'll just end up complete and wait for another day... But, I do like your optimism and will keep my fingers crossed that we all get good news today.PledgeGarcia wrote:adika86 wrote:Same. Same here. Pardon my ignorance, but does the lack of an update typically mean a decision is forthcoming? If so, is it likely an acceptance? Obviously there is some skepticism above because of the past few Mondays, but I'm on pins and needles here!
If some people have already been rejected today via status checker, does that mean those of us still waiting on an update have escaped the ding (for today, at least)?
Thanks for the help! I've been lurking for a while, but this is enough to bring me out of the woodwork!
GO BLUE!

auto-ding isn't really auto-ding as in they get your app and ding it at a moment. It works this way with some other schools but the top schools seem to want to just think about everything. 2/15 is a fairly recent complete date so prepare yourself to not hear anything until the end of March or even April. There are people that have been waiting for quite a bit longer and many that had been waiting since November/December with similar stats that are just getting dinged or waitlisted now.wolverine10 wrote:I am very confused. Not a lot of hope in my response but basically just sit tight and enjoy the ride.

I'm really just wondering if it's worth the time and stress to neurotically refresh the status checker today until it updates...

I got the waitlist last friday, and my status checker hasn't updated from 2/25 either, although it does now say "waitlist offer extended" rather than complete. Personally, this is looking a lot like that day a few weeks back where nobody updated at all.

How does that account for the rejections today, though?

It doesn't, but I'm just saying it doesn't necessarily mean that your status is about to change either because mine is definitely not going anywhere anytime soon, and I still haven't updated.PledgeGarcia wrote:Green Glass Windows wrote:I got the waitlist last friday, and my status checker hasn't updated from 2/25 either, although it does now say "waitlist offer extended" rather than complete. I need your opinion:
I was waitlisted on Friday. I plan on writing a LOCI, but I wrote a Why Michigan and told them that they were my top choice then. I'm a Latin major and Michigan is really connected with it's Classics Department. Do you think it would be cool to send in my own translation of a legal passage from Livy or Cicero or just more annoying paperwork for them?

Bad idea, don't get too creative, just send a LOCI saying you're still interestedcamillefisch wrote:I need your opinion:
