Re: GULC Waiting Thread
How's this for a LOCI?
Georgetown Oh Georgetown
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song Keeps Georgetown on my mind
I said Georgetown
Georgetown
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear as moonlight through the pines
Other schools reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in the peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you
I Said Georgetown, oh Georgetown
No peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgetown on my mind
Georgetown Oh Georgetown
The whole day through
Just an old sweet song Keeps Georgetown on my mind
I said Georgetown
Georgetown
A song of you
Comes as sweet and clear as moonlight through the pines
Other schools reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in the peaceful dreams I see
The road leads back to you

No peace I find

As both a native Georgian and a Georgetown WL'er I am morally conflicted over this...j12bash wrote:How's this for a LOCI?

It depends, sometimes it's the same day or in the couple days after. Stuff usually goes out around 4:30-5:00PM Easternmia468 wrote:Thanks! do you know if the emails are normally the same day as the update?Flips88 wrote:Email/email/snail mailmia468 wrote:Just got updated from 2/11... Re: GULC Waiting Thread
Hi, guys! I was just looking for some input on my current standing with GULC. My file was complete on 2/22 and I just called admissions on Monday. They indicated that they were going to render decisions for all files completed by 3/1 this Friday, April 15th in order to allow time for a deposit by May. (The woman I spoke with seemed very confident about this piece of information.) I am assuming anything except a "congratulations" will come via email. Would you think it is safe to say that no email from Gtown by Friday could be a good sign? Seeing as if acceptances are only mailed they will take longer to arrive?

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
Yes, I have updated at least twice since completion date (on 2/22), but I have not been waitlisted, held, or received a phone call. I am not sure what to expect at this point ...

I don't know about SPWL, but from last year's estimates roughly the same percentage of kids got off the PWL as off the regular WL. Though the PWL was much smaller.cassidylane wrote:protein wrote:Hey, they never said being in the special group within the preferred waitlist was a good thing...
hahahaha fair point! maybe they meant "special" like "stop eating the glue" sort of special.

Re: GULC Waiting Thread
I want to say it was in the 10-20% range? Something like 200 PWL kids and 500 WL kids with 10-20 from the former and 25-50 from the latter. But my memory of it is kind of foggy.Emma1 wrote:What numbers did you find?bk187 wrote: I don't know about SPWL, but from last year's estimates roughly the same percentage of kids got off the PWL as off the regular WL. EDIT: And I found it. It wasn't from last year, it was from a few years ago: http://www.top-law-schools.com/archives ... =7&t=31891

Seems like they accept more than that. I can already find about 10 people on TLS who were admitted off the PWL and obviously TLS only represents a fraction of people actually on the PWL.bk187 wrote:I want to say it was in the 10-20% range? Do you mean this year? I think most of the people that got off so far were special priority with 2 maybe 3 off priority and 1 or 2 off of regular.BeachandRun23 wrote:Seems like they accept more than that.
