Oh crap, am at decision now, too - says it updated 11/24 but didn't see it then, just today because you guys were talking about it. Well, from what I'm hearing here I guess I'll expect deferred or reject. Kind of glad I read this thread or I'd be thinking it meant accept to get one so early...

I think he went DR on 11/24. There is also a guy on lsn who went DR on 11/24 with a 3.65/174. So it's probably a mix. I wouldn't however say it's a rejection.

Well, here's hoping there are at least some accepts in the 11/24 batch.

EDIT: Looking at LSN for last year, it seems a mix - almost all accepts in the first batches, but a reject here or there - and I imagine other rejects maybe didn't update LSN.

I'm also URM (AA). So, I would be surprised if I'm deferred. I'm pretty sure it's an acceptance.

Well that's me, but my stats may not be very reflective. I'm an international applicant without a GPA, and so different schools could see me very differently based on how they understand the ambiguous JD-CAS evaluation that accompanies my application. The 3.65 is just my GPA estimate based on the conversion table provided in the evaluation.

On the other hand though, I had early acceptances at Michigan and Georgetown and so would be highly surprised with a Cornell deferral (unless its YP related). Anyway....we wait!

Yeah, I think your LSAT clears up confusion over where your GPA should be. Also, Cornell loves the international thing...

Ha ha....I know. I'm amused (and flattered!) to be the source of such rampant speculation!:) It is however, a little bugging to have a status checker which only adds to the uncertainty. I thought the purpose of these things was otherwise!

I thought last year, for Cornell, if you were admitted there was a link to the admitted students site. I guess it might not show up until they are sure you have the letter or something...

All I know is I selected No for EA, then Cornell contacted me to ask if I wanted to be EA. I'm a splitter, got the grades but not the lsat score. I can only hope all of this means something promising, like getting accepted!

They asked everyone who sent their app in before the EA deadline if they wanted to be considered for EA, even if you checked "no" on the EA box. This happened to me as well.

On another note, I do think being at "decision" now is a bad thing. We've seen no one get accepted and at least 2 (3?) people get deferred. 2 (or 3) is a trend.

I heard they send a pretty fancy binder. Or is that something they send after the acceptance packet?
