If you are debating, just write one. It took less than an hour. Unless you haven't even considered Duke, then I guess it might be more difficult.

Isn't priority reserve more like being held for regular decision? It definitely isn't a waitlist.
Priority reserve is in a way a step up from the wait list. You'll remain under consideration for the rest of the year, so you could get in at any point. Also, if you have to ride it out until after the application deadline, we would more likely than not be offered a spot before they go to people on the wait list. This isn't ED, so it's not like you're being held 'cause you've already been evaluated (just in an expedited manner).

I'm doing the same thing, same joint degree. I take the GRE tomorrow. *Cross fingers* Also applied at UT joint degree JD/Ph.D philosophy. ED at Duke though.
Compared with the LSAT, the GRE is a joke. You also get your score immediately after taking. Good luck.
Oh nice good luck on the GRE, it really is not that bad. And yes I agree that the single best thing is not having to wait three weeks to get your score back. It's glorious!

has anyone who did not apply priority track heard back yet? i have similar numbers to several people who have been getting in PT, not sure why Duke didn't ask me to do that too (maybe I missed something?)... I certainly would have. so does duke just wait to decide regular decision people after they're finished with the PT people?

Yes, I received it last Thursday; according to the status check they sent it out last Tuesday. In SC, though, so it didn't have too far to travel.

They send this out pretty quickly after acceptance. I got in like 9/15 and had the form by 9/25. It's not a $$$ figure yet, it's just a form you fill out and send back to them so they can consider giving you $$$. Not that exciting.

I have a mysterious mailing that occurred on 11/06 according to my status checker. Not the scholarship form or the acceptance packet. Anyone else have that slash have some insight?

I don't want to get my hopes up, but they sent out Mordecai invitations last year in November, even for the PT acceptances from September and October. So, maybe it is something scholarship-related.

I figured that date may refer to the first weekly "Welcome to Duke Law" email I got the day same day as the unmarked mailing on the checker.

BTW I wonder if this thread led to the enrollment deposit thing being taken off the status checker.

EDIT: Don't think so, Void. I have it and haven't sent in the scholarship form yet.

Wait is Mordecai the full tuition scholarship? And do they mail the application for this one out separately from the regular scholarship app?

In today via e-mail. More than a little surprised since I made a big mistake on my app, but I'm not complaining :D

For people who got the mysterious mailing, have you already submitted your scholarship application?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
