Just received an email invitation for group interview in Boston on December 6. Kind of annoyed it'll be another 3+ week waiting game, but ok.

Do y'all think it'd be overkill for me to do one of the optional 250 word essays?
I'm already going to be submitting a why x and an addendum so a fourth essay might seem like too much.

I had a brief addendum, a why x, and an optional essay and I was admitted.LawschoolHopeful2k16 wrote:Do y'all think it'd be overkill for me to do one of the optional 250 word essays?

There were ten of us and we got split into three groups to discuss some scenarios have to do with the admission process. You don't get to talk much when there are ten people but only an hour. Other than a three-sentence self introduction about your name, your hometown and what you're doing now there is literally nothing that you need to prepare for. Can anyone shed light on the group interview process? I'm not even nervous about it because I've heard that it is very informal but should we be prepared for any hardball?

Got an invitation to interview with an alum in my region. How long does it take for them to come up with any schedule? Any idea?

I applied to Georgetown in undergrad and interviewed with an alum in my area and if I remember correctly, it didn't take long to set that up. Not sure if the law school will differ though.hellohalo wrote:Got an invitation to interview with an alum in my region. How long does it take for them to come up with any schedule? Any idea?

Is there any consensus on who gets chosen to interview? I was just reading some pages (I've been avoiding TLS mostly lately lol) and saw some people who said they were in without an interview and started wondering how Georgetown chooses who to interview.

ED PT & FT applicant, 25%>LSAT>50%, GPA slightly above 50%, strong softs. Group interview back in Sept and submitted my app on Halloween.
I found out Friday 11/18 that my application's been deferred from ED to RD, and that I will receive a final decision by 2/28. I'm disappointed, but I think this is the best possible outcome at this point in time given my numbers.
Does anyone have any tips/ideas for further engaging with GULC and tipping the scales in favor of admitting me by 2/28? GULC is my dream school and I'd appreciate any advice.

Have you considered taking the LSAT again?godinacup wrote:ED PT & FT applicant, 25%>LSAT>50%, GPA slightly above 50%, strong softs. Group interview back in Sept and submitted my app on Halloween.

So I got an email yesterday inviting me to a group interview. I'm gonna do it, but due to the time that I submitted my app (ED) I think that there's no chance I'll hear back within 3 weeks. Unless they tell me at the interview, I suppose. Thoughts?

I've definitely thought about it, but I don't have time to take the LSAT again considering the timing of when GULC will be giving me a final decision. I also work 50 hrs/week and just got promoted at work, so I am not in the position to retake and perform better than I did in the past.somedeadman wrote:Have you considered taking the LSAT again?godinacup wrote:ED PT & FT applicant, 25%>LSAT>50%, GPA slightly above 50%, strong softs. Any ideas on other ways I can tip the scales in my favor?

Have you tried looking at the WL thread from last cycle or anything like that for ideas? I know you're not WLed, but I'm sure a bunch of people in there wanted to tip the scales too and maybe someone shared how they did it?godinacup wrote:ED PT & FT applicant, 25%>LSAT>50%, GPA slightly above 50%, strong softs. I checked my mail today after getting back from Thanksgiving break... Accepted!! Letter was dated 11/21. I wasn't expecting to hear back so quickly, especially because my numbers aren't super stellar (non-URM). 164/3.98. But I think I my personal statement was really good and my extracurriculars helped quite a bit. Good luck to everybody! Feel free to message me.
