bunch of us have been under ur2 or ur3 for quite some time. I submitted my app mid September went to UR3 on 10/9 and no movement ever since. Don't think any RD folks have heard back either way yet.

Hey guys I have a quick question about the application process! I just submitted my Duke app and under my LSAC home page, it says "Transmitted Application Warnings- we are unable to release your CAS report to the following law schools"

And it says under Duke, "Warnings: No report requested by law school."

What does this mean?! Is it because I have 3 LORs and they require only 2? I'm confused because they accept up to 4. How do I make this message disappear?? Thank you guys in advance!

Its nothing to be worried about. Said that for every app I submitted. Goes away once the school requests the report.

Dear TAD, thank you so much for letting me know! Duke was the first app I submitted so I thought I did something wrong LOL! Also, does this mean Duke will receive all 3 of my LORs even though it requires only 2? I'm not sure if I have to send the last one to the school directly ..

They will receive the number you assign to it when filling out your app on LSAC website

No worries. Yes they will receive all 3 if you assigned all 3 to them.

People who have been accepted: did you get scholarship information with your acceptance email or are they sending it later?

Completed on 10/31. UR1 on 11/02, went UR2 pretty late today.
Data point: Accepted on day 9 of PT. Email came at around 7pm. Status checker changed to "decision made" at around 4pm that afternoon... so a 3-hour delay between the change and the email. LSAT, GPA>75%

Good luck everyone!

I'm on day 9 of my PT application and I still haven't gone UR2. Still says 'Under Review,' but the Current Status date is 11/7. Does this mean my response is going to come after day 10, or just that they haven't updated my status checker in awhile? Happy Saturday, everyone :)

Some people don't go UR2. That being said, the status checker doesn't say UR2. The date just updates. If you applied PT, your decision will come by day 10.

Well kinda glad you didn't get in yet if you can't spell... but most likely if you didn't write a convincing a why duke essay then that is your problem right there.

yeah I'd say it's yield protect and the reason is probably what grades?? said. if you really are considering Duke, write a good LOCI.

For all you still applying to Duke and haven't sent in apps yet- Duke is one of the only top 14 law schools that SERIOUSLY cares about a why? essay. Berkeley does as well I hear. But Duke has no problem dinging applications that should be auto-locks because either they didn't have one or it was half assed.

Anecdotally at least, I didn't write a why Duke last cycle and got reserve. Put effort into writing one this time and got in, so yeah probably write one

I'm at both medians and got in without a Why Duke, but I'm totally writing a Why Berkeley, Michigan, and UVA (that's what I have left to do, I did one for NYU, Columbia, Georgetown, Penn already)

should you write a 'why duke' if the main reasons it's your top choice have to do with being from the area/having all your family in the area? this info is readily available throughout the rest of my application

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
