Congrats! Was the handwritten note just congratulatory or did it mention something about your app?

Thank you! It mentioned specific things about my app that she liked. There were also some encouraging words to choose NYU and what they had to offer.

I'll probably email the admissions department, but just thought I'd check here as well.
yes, they do. literally google "nyu fee waiver" and it's on their website. they want documentation - i sent in a certificate of tfa service or something, but you could also do your americorps (or whatever) award letter that you download from the website. they just want dates and certification of completion of service

I asked an admissions person about this--in January the financial aid forms will come out, and follow-ups on the named scholarships start rolling in later (March/April for a lot of them, it seems). But not hearing about it doesn't mean you aren't being considered!

UR 2 as of today! UR1 was 10/4. What does UR2 mean really? Is it a good sign or just a meaningless status change?

As for UR2, I went UR2 last Monday and got in the following day!

Hope it means good news for y'all although I really don't know if it means anything except they're back in their office!

Submitted 11/22, UR1 11/26... any thoughts on likelihood of hearing back in December from any of you who heard?

Submitted mid-Sep, UR1 9/30, and finally UR2 today! Trying not to read into it too much, but I'm hoping it means things are moving along.

For what it's worth, I never went UR2 and went straight to accepted. So I'm not sure how important that is.

True, but most of the UR2 movements seem to have been case-by-case until now, whereas this is looking like a wave--so in this particular case maybe it's preceding another DLS wave :D

Yeah, I'm sure it's not necessary, but considering I'm not a shoo-in, I'm hoping it meant it got set aside after a first look and now they're giving it a closer review.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
