Yes definitely worth a try. I think i could possibly get an athletic scholarship there, but im still in talks with the coach and not even sure if they have a spot. But worth a try, it's a decent school.Tittles wrote:You fill out a scholarship reconsideration form on the admitted students site, but the deadline was 3/15. No I didn't . Though I should definitely do that, right? Do you just email someone?

Has anyone had any success negotiating outside of the scholarship reconsideration request form?

2k/year bump. Probably not enough to keep me interested. I believe their use of the reconsideration form is new. I'm going to follow-up with a letter request for another bump.

6k/year bump for me. Is is true that once you are offered over 16k per year, you cannot ask for more scholarship money?

*Sees everyone posts about getting bumps*
*Gets an email saying how there's not much money and a lot of demand, so you don't get a bump*
Will be withdrawing with $. Hopefully I'll free up some more for yall! Good luck!

Once you're offered more than $16K/year, you are automatically disqualified from receiving any need based grants from the school.Anonnonnon wrote:6k/year bump for me. Is is true that once you are offered over 16k per year, you cannot ask for more scholarship money?

$4k/year bump. Happy to have gotten more, but still not quite what I was hoping for. Anyone have any thoughts on furthering negotiations? GW has never used the scholly reconsideration form before, have they?

I'm giving it a shot (re-reconsideration) but I'm stepping very cautiously. I'm doing my best to simultaneously communicate that I'm grateful for the scholarship offered and pleased with the "bump", but conscious of competing offers and the high-COL in DC. Here goes nothing.OutOfTheQuestion wrote:$4k/year bump. Happy to have gotten more, but still not quite what I was hoping for. Anyone have any thoughts on furthering negotiations? Sorry to hear that! Did GW imply that they aren't very willing to negotiate further, after the scholarship reconsideration form?BDMPKT wrote:aaaaaaaaaaand no dice.michlaw89 wrote:same here. can't hurt!BDMPKT wrote:I'm giving it a shot (re-reconsideration) but I'm stepping very cautiously. Does anyone know if other schools use a similar scholly reconsideration form?

Basically was told that there isn't further funding now, but as offers are accepted/declined, more funds might open up and allow further reconsideration. Very understandable answer and, ultimately, satisfying as can be under the circumstances.OutOfTheQuestion wrote:Sorry to hear that! Re: George Washington 2015-2016 Applicants
sent in an email asking for another scholly bump, they told me I'll need to check back after the first deposit deadline on April 15th and it's entirely depending on whether or not more funds will be available at that point. However, I am not very committed to submit my deposit now because what GW offers me right now is far from enough and I do not intend to take out a huge loan for law school. Any thoughts on this?

Re: George Washington 2015-2016 Applicants
but according to the email I got, in order to be considered for another scholly bump we'll have to submit the deposit before the first deposit deadline while I am not entirely sure whether or not I will attend GW.BDMPKT wrote:Basically was told that there isn't further funding now, but as offers are accepted/declined, more funds might open up and allow further reconsideration.
