Didn't know anyone knew the MTA song anymore...
Thank you! I take my poll responsibility very seriously. I do research for each of these polls.
I can't believe that you didn't include 'More than a feeling' by Boston.

You're just salty because I've dethroned you as Master of the Polls. :P

Dcc617 wrote:I had my interview this morning. I had a couple questions not stated in the OP, including:

Why law school now?
What are you most excited about doing at Harvard? Is there a specific faculty member or program that you're excited about?
What would you bring to Harvard, both in and out of the classroom?
How do you measure success?

Overall the woman was very nice and it was a friendly interview. Much nicer than Chicago's.
Thanks Dcc! I'll definitely keep those in mind for my prep.

For the others who have had their JS1's already, how did you all prep? I have already gone through that interview thread and found it pretty helpful. But nonetheless, my interview is coming up and I'm nervous!

I went through the interview thread and searched around the internet for any more information I could find. I made sure that I knew the general direction I would go with answering any of the questions that I had found and made sure I had questions for the interviewer. A few minutes before the interview I started to worry that I was severely underprepared because I hadn't actually spoken any of my answers out loud, then the interview started and I really didn't get asked any of the questions that I had prepared for and really the only preparation that helped was the questions that I had for the interviewer, although I only asked one of those questions because I thought of some questions during the interview that were more pertinent to the matters we discussed.

The moral of this story is that it doesn't really matter how much/was kind of preparation you do as long as you present yourself honestly and personably. The interviewer was very nice so it was very easy to have a pleasant/flowing conversation. Just make sure you have questions for them and you will do great.

JS1! Got the email at like 3:45-ish eastern. Open times at that point were on the 19th and 20th, but by the time I figured out what my Skype username was (haven't used Skype in years), all of the times on the 20th were gone.

Also, I tried to find this info ITT but all the removed posts made me give up: What does one wear for a Skype interview? I guess it's Harvard, so suit, even if they can only see me from the chest up.

Apparently JS has explicitly stated that just a nice dress shirt is perfectly acceptable. I can't find where she said that. I think probably most wear suits but many do not. Congrats, btw!

Second this question. In addition, how long can I wait before scheduling an interview? The only slots currently available are on the 19th, which I can't do, and no idea when other slots will open up (can't reserve more than 2 weeks in advance).
I'm sure you're fine to wait a few days until more slots open up. If you're nervous about it and no slots have opened up by EOW, shoot them an email.

They seem to be doing things quicker now, as it took 10 days for my app to go complete, but only 5 to get the interview email.

Thanks! I was already planning to wear pants, but the thread you linked to definitely confirms my decision.

Totally unrelated, I'm losing my faith in the members of this forum, because "Boston" by Augustana, an objectively awful song, has more votes than "Dirty Water" in the current poll.

I've been complete since 10/14, so I envy your 5 day turn around time. Care to tell your numbers so I engage in a bit more self-loathing?

Out of interest, have any international applicants (particularly those without a GPA) received a JS1 yet?
