Considering how insistent YLS is about consistent standards throughout entire cycle, I'd bet Asha keeps at least one of her PA 'passes' 'til the very last app is read.
Also, I know they say profs are reading apps from "early fall" and on. But I would highly doubt many of the pre Xmas admits were from prof review. These are most likely the can't miss candidates that Asha doesn't really have to think about (the few Rhodes/Marshalls/Mitchells and such they get every year, etc.) I'm just having trouble believing that not only are they a) getting sets of applications out to profs before Xmas, but that b) 3 different profs are already reviewing their 80ish apps. Not saying it can't happen, just much more likely these are Asha admits.
ETA: Also, saying that admits from Xmas on are skewed more heavily towards prof review than Asha doesn't mean applying later would put you at a disadvantage. Those types of apps are so rare and there is no set number she can admit (that I know of). So when they pop up, no matter when they went complete, they are in no matter what.
First off, congratulations! I had the same dilemma last year and my law school advisor was fairly firm that I should not tell them anything until I actually received the Fulbright. Her reasoning was that it sets an odd precedent if you tell them you're making other plans for next year (like they could then waitlist/ding you knowing that you could apply again with a stronger app), and it could be potentially awkward if you are not chosen for the Fulbright (like the school wonders well why didn't you get the fellowship?).
