could be mistaken, but iirc it was two weeks after the first js1 wave.Hikari wrote:When was the second wave of post WL JS 1 last year? This waiting is a killer

although i just checked and it was also a week after the first js2 wave. so that's my new guess, rather than two weeks after the first js1 wave.mernburg wrote:Yeah, last year it was two weeks after the first JS1 wave. so maybe we'll get another round late next week..?

Welp, I blew the start of the interview.
I'll probably get rejected. Someone can take my spot.

Dont worry I don't think the interview itself is a huge part of the equationviralcow wrote:Welp, I blew the start of the interview.

It's so that if you're depositing outside the T6 they can write you off as entirely unworthy.qwertyTLS wrote:I wonder if/how the "where have you deposited" question influences the decision...
my guess is not at all, but then why ask? possibly internal data collection, but i still don't see much value in it.

but actually though, wouldn't it hurt if you were deposited at YS? on the WL they're concerned about yield, and i'd imagine a YS student is less likely to accept, given their alternatives. yes they sent the e-mail, but still. huge speculation though, i'm just bored - good luck to everyone who has interviews!

I was wondering the same thing. I was wondering if the student had deposited at a school that maybe wasn't Yale, Stanford, or Columbia, if that would weigh more favorably because H would think they're more likely to want to make the jump up the rankings.qwertyTLS wrote:I wonder if/how the "where have you deposited" question influences the decision...

Re: Harvard Law School c/o 2018 Waitlist
I feel like my interview went okay. It wasn't with JS, but the interviewer made me feel pretty at ease and the whole thing felt very conversational. She didn't do that intimidating thing where the person listens to your answers without doing the encouraging head nod or any other gesture, so that was good. Every time someone does that I'm always assuming they hate my answer halfway through it. She asked about where I had deposited, about my current job, why H, what area I would like to study, and explained the same things about the waitlist process that have already been posted.

Hope I didn't scare them off when I revealed my Florida Coastal full-ride, it'll be tough for H to match thatMustaphaMond wrote:It's so that if you're depositing outside the T6 they can write you off as entirely unworthy.qwertyTLS wrote:I wonder if/how the "where have you deposited" question influences the decision...

is the two-week timeline consistent with another wave of JS1 offers?

the next js1 wave probably won't be in the first js2 wave based on last yearadman921 wrote:is the two-week timeline consistent with another wave of JS1 offers?
