No official FB group yet. The admitted students website says to be on the lookout for an email with an invite.

Why do I get the feeling that I'll be in Stanford purgatory until March/April?
Quick question: For those who are "under review," but are patently being passed over by candidates who applied later in the cycle... how should one feel about their chances? Let's say somebody applied in December, and has still been under review while people from Jan are receiving acceptance calls. Should one begin to worry??

ETA: I read the last few pages and answered my own question. Many who applied early January still have not received status check info.

Okay so maybe this only happened to me because I'm dumb but I was waiting for like two weeks for my status check stuff and getting really worried but then I checked my secondary email address that I provided and it had been sent there instead of my primary email address. So I don't know if maybe you listed a different email address in your application but that's where mine was. Or it's just possible they're a little behind.ErgoSum wrote:ETA: I read the last few pages and answered my own question. Many who applied early January still have not received status check info.

I'm kinda wondering the same thing (I'm a December applicant myself) but also assuming there are plenty of September through November applicants that are wondering the same, and trying to convince myself that the only January-applicant admits are extraordinary people that would have a fair chance at all YHS anyway.Oskosh wrote:Why do I get the feeling that I'll be in Stanford purgatory until March/April?

But seriously, are there January applicants that have been admitted already??

May have missed it in this thread, but LSN only shows acceptances from those who submitted in September/early-October.altf4 wrote:I'm kinda wondering the same thing (I'm a December applicant myself) but also assuming there are plenty of September through November applicants that are wondering the same, and trying to convince myself that the only January-applicant admits are extraordinary people that would have a fair chance at all YHS anyway.Oskosh wrote:Why do I get the feeling that I'll be in Stanford purgatory until March/April?

I'm starting to get pretty worried. I submitted on the 7th, and still no status checker...

Hello All.
I submitted Nov 7, and have been "under review" since Nov 11. I understand it takes them a while to get back, but is it noteworthy that my Status Checker hasn't even had the date updated in 2.5 months? Or does Stanford not really keep track of the dates?
Thanks in advance!

I don't have an LSN-- but I submitted late October (on Halloween) and was admitted last Friday.pylon wrote:May have missed it in this thread, but LSN only shows acceptances from those who submitted in September/early-October.altf4 wrote:I'm kinda wondering the same thing (I'm a December applicant myself) but also assuming there are plenty of September through November applicants that are wondering the same, and trying to convince myself that the only January-applicant admits are extraordinary people that would have a fair chance at all YHS anyway.Oskosh wrote:Why do I get the feeling that I'll be in Stanford purgatory until March/April?

No no, SLS status check doesn't update at all once you go under review. When you get a decision it changes to decision letter sent.pto1993 wrote:Hello All.

Same and same. My secondary email gets forwarded to the main one, so that can't even be it. I'm waiting until my three week appversery before giving into 0L neurosis and emailing.LeeAllen wrote:I'm starting to get pretty worried. I submitted on the 7th, and still no status checker...

I'm hoping they are just a little slow with those of us who aren't 4.0/174+.leslieknope wrote:Same and same. My secondary email gets forwarded to the main one, so that can't even be it. My secondary also forwards to my primary.
I'm trying to just forget I applied - time goes by faster like that, ha.

Submitted on 1/7 as well, no status checker email. I wouldn't worry too much, seems they are just behind/lagging.ErgoSum wrote:I'm hoping they are just a little slow with those of us who aren't 4.0/174+.leslieknope wrote:Same and same. I applied 1/4, never got a status checker either. Under GPA 25th and LSAT between 25th-50th so expecting a rejection. Still for $100, it would be nice if they could pretend....

Welcome welcome future 1Ls.
To those waiting: I didn't get waitlisted until early May of my cycle and then got in (after being deposited at that school in Connecticut with gross weather and old buildings), so if this is your top choice, don't give up on it. Quite a few 1Ls were WL summer admits.

Re: Stanford Law School c/o 2018 Applicants (2014-2015 Cycle)
I received an email from Stanford the day I applied (Jan. 7) acknowledging that I did so. But since then, I haven't heard anything from them and they haven't even given me a status checker.
That's weird, right? It's been nearly 3 calendar weeks.
Columbia did the same thing to me, and I found out today that they were waiting for a transcript from my semester abroad (which is an issue on its own, but I didn't know they were waiting for it and I'm taking steps to fix it). Schools like Harvard, NYU, and Berkeley are already processing my application, so on some level it must be complete.
I guess my question for this thread is: has anyone not received an "application complete" confirmation within two weeks of applying? And does anyone know if Stanford has special rules about secondary transcripts or something?

Stanford does require study abroad transcripts, even when LSAC doesn't. Check on their website's application requirements page for details about that. However, I got my status checker before they received my study abroad transcript, so I don't know that that's what is holding it up.ub3r wrote:I received an email from Stanford the day I applied (Jan. 7) acknowledging that I did so.
