Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
On a related note, anyone planning on applying early decision? I'm pretty much set on where I want to go, I just don't know if it would offer any advantage other than a stress reliever, as I'd know where I'm headed sooner. Plus, there's always the minute chance I could outperform my numbers and then be accepted to a higher ranked school but now I've missed the opportunity to attend since I've committed somewhere else. I supposed I can deal with all that after the LSAT. Back to studying I go.

If your only reason for applying ED is to relieve stress, don't do it. Unless you have tons of money to throw at LS and $200k is NBD for you, in which case, more power to youMadwomanintheAttic wrote:On a related note, anyone planning on applying early decision? I think that's on the early side of on time.calmike wrote:I have only been studying for the LSAT. Now I have to make an LSAC account, register for September LSAT, send in my transcripts, choose professors to write me some letters, and start writing my personal statement.
If I submit my applications in late October/ early Nov, would you consider that early in the process, mid, or late? I have a low gpa and potentially a high LSAT..

Oh yeah I forgot, people always do the holiday thing. Pre Halloween is super early, pre Thanksgiving is early, pre Christmas is on time, anything after New Years is on the late side. I think?middlebear wrote:I think consensus is pre-Thanksgiving counts as early?

Sounds right? A shocking oversimplification for us anal, hyper-detail-oriented (in theory, at least) pre-lawyer types.xylocarp wrote:Oh yeah I forgot, people always do the holiday thing. Sigh. And I also need to remember that timeline and not get into a panicked crazy 'NO PROFESSORS SUBMIT YOUR LETTERS NOW I HAVE TO SUBMIT IN SEPTEMBER' sort of spiral. Because I know I will do that, and that is not helpful to anyone.

For all practical purposes that is very right.xylocarp wrote:Oh yeah I forgot, people always do the holiday thing. Thanks for the confirmation, Mike! Re: TLS c/o 2018 Applicants
I'm nearing the start of my SENIOR year in college!! This is something I never could expect and it seems so surreal that the moment I've waited on the past 4 years is finally here and all I care about is LSAT, references and getting ALL the fee waivers. I feel like I should appreciate this more, anyone else in this boat?

how much did you study for it? How many hours did you put in?smccgrey wrote:Is someone going to OP another school's c/o 2018 applicants page? Georgetown is getting lonely...
In other news, I had a really great LSAT day... Is it weird that I'm excited to write it?? Is anyone else kind of looking forward to it? Or have I studied so much that I've lost my mind?
I'm super excited about it!!!

I was p excited to take the LSAT in the weeks/month-ish leading up to it. Then I got physically ill with nerves the day before. Then the morning of I was just sort of chill/indifferent. Obvs LSAT is an emotional roOoller coaster

One of many reasons is that when else in your life have you been asked to write about yourself, and to then keep in under 2 pages double spaced!

Mike, I was thinking about using my family as a central theme in my ps, how the things I learnt from my family, and how growing up in a small town in Asia, where my entire village was considered my family has really shaped me into the person I am today and how it will help me as a law student and an attorney. Is that ok? thanks!MikeSpivey wrote:YAY!hereisonehand wrote:man writing a personal statement is hard.

Well, I wrought this so I should answer but two things:deebanger wrote:Mike, I was thinking about using my family as a central theme in my ps, how the things I learnt from my family, and how growing up in a small town in Asia, where my entire village was considered my family has really shaped me into the person I am today and how it will help me as a law student and an attorney. 1. I don't mean to turn this thread into a shadow Q&A thread, so there is a place for questions and again I certainly don't want to try to answer them anywhere else. I can see why TLS would like that not.
2. Generally, even for very benign for very benign individual and specific questions we don't answer as it would be unfair for our clients.
But again, I feel responsible so in this case -- sounds good just make sure it is much more about what you have learned than it is about your great grandmother.
