I wasn't able to find it. Seems unique to this cycle.

Based on my vague memory of last year's WL thread, JS1b calls spanned two or three days in its initial wave, and sporadically afterwards. I'm not totally sure if this year will resemble last year given the abnormalities so far, but I'm pretty sure there will be more to come. I am also not completely sure if the call I had was indeed a JS1b, probably because I kind of expected a more certain tone from the caller. Maybe I was just overly nervous. Hope the rest of us JS1.5s will get some good news over the rest of the week!

I endorse this unofficial JS1.5 nomenclature...

EDIT: Well I guess "unofficial" is kind of our stock-in-trade around here...

Just got the same call but went to VM. I was told to call back so we could talk about what my plans were this fall. It felt more like they were honestly just seeking an update rather than offering a JS2..?
Define "just" pleaaaseeee

He has six posts to go. I'd appreciate it if he spent five of them freaking out and making up wild theories with the rest of us.

Hang in there, I'm sure there will be more to come this week. One early poster said she was given a two-week extension and multiple people said they were told to expect decisions in two weeks or more. There is still plenty of time left for calls. Past cycles also indicated that JS1bs spanned more than a day.

I seriously hope so guys. To not get any positive news after such a long wait will be very tough.

Good to see others hearing back though..you should feel great about your chances!

To calm my nerves and to reiterate what stan said, last year JS1bs started on the 21st and then continued on the 22nd and 23rd. So the advice not to freak out yet is credited.

Do most people who receive JS1b's receive JS2s? Or is it still up in the air?

By "homework assignments," I'm assuming they just wanted us to do some research, or at least pretend to, and write them a brief response indicating our desire to remain on the wait list. Or are people writing extensive LOCI-like responses?
