Congrats on Emory...higher ranked than W&M anyway.

Emory is way better than W&M, and not just because of the rankings. I feel like W&M's ego got a little too big this cycle.

Hey TLSers - W&M 3L here. Pardon me for jumping in your thread, but if any of you have any questions, I'd love to help out. I've had a good outcome at W&M, and it has come with pros and cons, so I'm happy to offer any insight. Feel free to PM or post.
Best of luck!

Doesn't exactly look like this will help much, but just withdrew from the wait list. Good luck everyone

I feel that their big ego is pretty justified with a 9 spot jump... Not that anyone really cares about ranking

I received no scholarship money from this school, and when I emailed the Dean for consideration for more money, she said that i will be put on a list for consideration. Very disappointed! 162ish 3.7x

I've got the same decision. Have you been to the Emory campus? If so, how did W&M compare?

Did you apply late? I have similar stats and applied before they got the ranking jump and i got $... We were in talks about increases before the jump, and now they put me on the same list

I asked for more money and got an extra 5k per year. I've noticed that state schools tend to be less flexible with renegotiation for scholarship. However, you may have better luck since the first deadline for intent has already passed and a large number of people are withdrawing.

I choose to reapply this year. There is no reason for me to give up my job for those lower ranked schools.

How did you go about negotiating? did you have a better offer somewhere else? I have offers that make the tuition equal between here and emory.

I just called the dean and was upfront with her. I emailed her an offer from GW, Wake, And UNC and told her that money was a huge deciding factor. To answer the second question, ALL schools have students that either don't respond by the deadline or withdraw around this time in the cycle. Read through different sections of this forum and you'll find your evidence.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
