Not really sure, I don't think I've heard anything about ASD since the last one was called off.Yanky91 wrote:Do you get a t-shirt or a mug or something when you attend the admitted students day?

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
So, I visited the campus. I like it. The city has charm to it. I was extremely sick when I went, so I didn't really get to socialize, but I sat in on a class that was interesting and saw the area. I liked the apartments at Aspen. The fact that it is right across the street from the law school is a definite +. The thing is, I was originally looking for a 1 bedroom, and the only ones available it seems are 2 bed 2 bath. Does anyone know if there are apartments at Aspen Way that are 1 bed? Also, do a lot of these places open up in the summer? Anyone with any experiences please let me know. If you prefer you can PM

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
The Aspen condos are all 2-3 bedrooms. From what I have seen there are at least 5-6 that are available for rent right now. When I looked in June there were at least 8-10. Post-grads and grad students tend to live here so it's quiet and more will open up in the summer. Most of the aspen condos are around 650-750 so could be really cheap to live there with a roommate. Also I don't know if this has been sent out yet but Wake does a thing called House Hunt in July. It's really cool, basically you go out all day and they take you around to different living locations and you meet landlords of apartment admins to find deals. You also go with a large amount of the people who will be in the class so that's where most people meet their roommates. If you want to live with a roommate, at least for first year, House Hunt will be an excellent opportunity and once it gets closer to deposite dates I bet the Facebook group starts to pick up and people will be looking for roommates.Yanky91 wrote:So, I visited the campus. Thanks so much for all the helpful information Shaynislegend. You helped me a lot. I will definitely check out House Hunt. Thanks. BTW Reynolda Gardens are really nice (even in the winter), and Krankies coffee is ridiculously good.shaynislegend wrote:The Aspen condos are all 2-3 bedrooms. You certainly should not give up on life. Hopefully you got into other schools. If not, you can write a letter of continued interest to WFU. In the letter be specific as to why you would like to attend WF. See what they say. I don't know your numbers, but if your LSAT is too low, you can always retake the test.amohiuddin wrote:I did the video interview and got waitlisted at WFU. Does anyone know if they're hosting a makeup ASW since the last one was cancelled? Don't know if I will be able to make it to the one in 2 weeks.

I'm just biting my nails until I hear back from Rose and Hearn for those scholarships. Wake is giving me $14,000/year, but I need a bit more than that to be in Winston. This is definitely where I want to be.

Just finished with my video interview. Hoping for a quick turnaround on a decision, so I can start apartment hunting!

I am under committee review as of today. Any idea how long it is before a decision from this point?

Re: Wake Forest c/o 2017 (2013-2014)
The only one I know they cancelled was Feb 14. The "make up" information session was Feb 21, and then you also had the option to go to the regularly scheduled one on Feb 28. You can always schedule an individual visit though!sunnyd101 wrote:Does anyone know if they're hosting a makeup ASW since the last one was cancelled? Does anyone know what kind of reimbursement they do for their Open House for Admitted Students? I really want to go to the event on March 21st.

I believe it is $300 off of your first deposit. I am assuming they do not provide lodging? Also, anyone know what the closest airport is? It looks like over an hour drive from both Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham.RonBurgundy wrote:Does anyone know what kind of reimbursement they do for their Open House for Admitted Students? Hi, did the people who got decisions today receive them via status checker or email?
Also GSO is the closest airport, only about 30 minutes. The drives from CLT and RDU are equal (about 1.5 hours). If you are choosing between those, just go with whichever is less expensive for you.
