Stuck at UR 12/5...getting a little worried! This is my top choice but I'm sitting LSAT 25th and GPA >75th. Are my worries warranted?

Are you sure about the bolded? I don't think that's the case (that committee review hasn't started yet).gobears!! wrote:You are fine for now. Either way, I wouldn't worry about having been UR since 12/5

Perfect! Just getting a little paranoid as is the norm all over TLS. Is there any data on whether Berkeley and Michigan tend to admit the same applicants?koalacity wrote:Are you sure about the bolded? Hmm, there's probably some way to compare data from LSN-I'm just not very good at that sort of thing.omzster67 wrote: Perfect! Just getting a little paranoid as is the norm all over TLS. Is there any data on whether Berkeley and Michigan tend to admit the same applicants?
There is probably a great deal of overlap, but I think the acceptances at the margins for each school are going to be pretty different. Berkeley is generally very splitter-unfriendly and quite reverse splitter-friendly. Michigan is relatively splitter-friendly, but I'm not sure how they are on reverse splitters.

Interesting. Well as a major reverse splitter I'm happy with that...queue the "retake the test" TLS party line..koalacity wrote:Hmm, there's probably some way to compare data from LSN-I'm just not very good at that sort of thing.omzster67 wrote: Perfect! Above 75th LSAT, below 25th GPA for me, so I'm definitely in the danger zone. Thought it was at least worth a try.desichhori wrote:Submitted late December, Under Review Today! Hope it doesn't have anything do with stats cuz I am a reverse splitter.. What about you guys? What are your stats?
I'm wondering how other people approached the question about allowing current students to review your application. There's a lot of nuance in my application that I felt an actual admissions officer might be more sympathetic toward, so I selected "no." Anyone else?

The students are just part of a committee so I said yes.gma221 wrote:Above 75th LSAT, below 25th GPA for me, so I'm definitely in the danger zone. If I'm waitlisted by Berkeley, is this an appropriate LOCI?

Above both medians I don't think it is ever too late to throw an app in. Earlier is still much better, but if a school is fighting to really maintain a median, they'll give your app a look. UCB appears to be more holistic though, and I am unsure how that affects late applicants in comparison to other schools.Bajam wrote:Is it worth it to throw Berk an app so late in the game? Yea and I've heard they prefer early apps, which is why I'm a bit hesitant haha. Decisions, decisions, decisions....SteelPenguin wrote:Above both medians I don't think it is ever too late to throw an app in. Exactly. $125ish is not a lot of money in the larger context of law school.barrelofmonkeys wrote:You definitely won't get in if you don't apply.Bajam wrote:Yea and I've heard they prefer early apps, which is why I'm a bit hesitant haha. Berkeley is such a reach for me that I never expected immediate admission, or even admission at all. That being said, it'd be nice to be put out of my misery so I can move onto other plans without the microscopic twinkle of hope that I currently have.deputydog wrote:Tomorrow could be the day my ride ends. I don't know if it'll be the same this week, but I was admitted last Wednesday, and my email came in at 12:08 pm (I'm in Boston). It looks like Berkeley gets the ball rolling first thing in the morning. Good luck everyone waiting!!!!

They seem to send the e-mails right around noon eastern. I was too lazy to find all the data, but one week it was 11:58, and yes, last Wednesday it was 12:08.Marshmallow wrote:I don't know if it'll be the same this week, but I was admitted last Wednesday, and my email came in at 12:08 pm (I'm in Boston).
