It was also sent at 8:15 PM. Poor guy probably hasn't left the office yet.

I didn't get that email from Emory. I applied the 2nd week of January and haven't heard anything from them. (I'm not implying that they should have contacted me.)

I got that email too. Can people provide dates of when they applied? It could be that we are all the next batch of decisions if we sent it around the general time. I believe I went complete on 11/19/12 and probably sent it that day or a little before.

If you don't get the email in the next day or so, I would call them or shoot them an email.fallingup wrote:I didn't get that email from Emory. I applied the 2nd week of January and haven't heard anything from them. (I'm not implying that they should have contacted me.)

They also could have sent out your decision yesterday and removed your name from the list of applicants still under review.JaviSTB12 wrote:If you don't get the email in the next day or so, I would call them or shoot them an email.fallingup wrote:I didn't get that email from Emory. Re: Emory class of 2016 (2012-2013 cycle)
Hi everyone – this is Ethan Rosenzweig at Emory Law. A quick note to express my apologies for the inadvertent formatting error that some applicants received in an email from me. I am definitely embarrassed, for we try hard in the office to ensure that all of our communications are as polished and professional as the applications you have submitted to us.
A couple of years ago, I was reading an essay where a student indicated that her goal was to matriculate at “Arizona State”. I remember reading it and thinking, “geez, can’t you get the name of the school correct?” I called the student to ask her to send us a revised essay for her file, and we had such a positive conversation that it changed my perspective on the situation. Anyhow, I wanted to make sure folks knew that I am aware of the situation, and I am terribly sorry.
Also, I am thinking that folks may be questioning why some received an update email and others did not. Files are in so many different phases of review right now that I wanted to make sure that applicants who have been waiting patiently do not think we forgot about them. I promise we are committed to giving each file a thorough review, and lots of decisions will be expedited in the coming weeks.
If you need anything in the interim, don’t hesitate to reach out at admission(a)law.emory.edu.
Thanks again for your engagement in our community. It’s a big deal to us.

Even though I did not received the email with this formatting faux pas, I have the overwhelming urge to reform my alias to FNAME because it makes me chuckle.
No worries, Ethan. I think it created some much needed levity in this thread. I see these sorts of formatting errors too often to count.

I dont follow too many threads, but this is the only one where the dean of admissions is posting.
I didnt get the FNAME email, but I have had schools send me mail with the complete wrong name.

Didn't get said email. I've been complete since late November.

FWIW, I got an email with my actual FNAME properly inserted after the "Dear". It was news about employment reports coming out next week. I suspect they are positive given the herald. The email also said something about how Emory is awesome to attend.

Re: Emory class of 2016 (2012-2013 cycle)
This is my sentiment exactly. When I've contacted them with questions, their admissions dept has had the fastest response time compared to the other schools I've applied to. Although I did have a mini heart attack after reading Ethan's post here earlier in the day and then getting an email...alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Given Emory's slow timetable, it seems like this whole LSAC snafu hit them pretty hard. It's funny to think that a lot of us won't have decisions until basically April, but at this point what's waiting three more weeks?
Also, I've had a couple of interactions with admissions and they've been kind and courteous. Don't judge them because of a computer glitch.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
