Re: Fordham c/o 2016/17 (2012-2013 Cycle)
Was dinged at Fordham a few weeks back, when I asked if I could get specifics on why my application was denied, I was told it was policy not to give out that information. I thought a few people on here said admissions was very candid with them when asked why they were denied?
I was also told I could request reconsideration? Is there anything to this? Or is it the equivalent of just saying "pretty please"?

It's the equivalent of saying "pretty please" if you don't have anything to add. On the other hand, if you improve your application (e.g. improved scores, new work experience) then you might be able to pull it offemarxnj wrote:Was dinged at Fordham a few weeks back, when I asked if I could get specifics on why my application was denied, I was told it was policy not to give out that information. Nah, I'll just be at my current job so no change there, and I don't plan on retaking currently. GPA or C&F issues is the likely culprit, so not much I can do. Good luck everyone.dingbat wrote:It's the equivalent of saying "pretty please" if you don't have anything to add. same here... with a 167/3.5. similar feelings.

167/3.9 here. Got 25K/year. I think the highest they offer (from what I've seen on LSN) is 30K/year.uconjak wrote:How is fordam on merit schollies? Got 168/3.9

Does Fordham hand out schols later in the year? Since my acceptance I've heard nothing about any kind of money so I'm wondering if that's all I'm going to get.

It is possible but it kind of depends if they get the numbers they want with the offers they already sent out.danitt wrote:Does Fordham hand out schols later in the year? Since my acceptance I've heard nothing about any kind of money so I'm wondering if that's all I'm going to get.

Applied 12/14, went complete three days later. My status just changed yesterday... to complete. Da hell?

According to this thread for the 2011-2012 cycle there were indeed substantial scholarships handed out post June (90k plus).
Note the dates on those claiming scholarship info:

It is also worth noting that Fordham is indeed up to negotiate:

Just to add a slight correction, last year the maximum was $30k/year, or $90k totalajax wrote:danitt wrote:Does Fordham hand out schols later in the year? Since my acceptance I've heard nothing about any kind of money so I'm wondering if that's all I'm going to get.

Do you work for Fordham in any capacity? I'm just curious, because for you to have that info seems pretty strange.

No, I do not work for Fordham in any capacity whatsoever. I am a student there.ajax wrote:Do you work for Fordham in any capacity? I'm just curious, because for you to have that info seems pretty strange.
