Congratulations new admits! I went complete on 10/29 so my overzealous status checking will be increasing exponentially until they stop this "playing hard to get" thing and just accept me. Cheers.

deffoe wrote:In! Same as canary, I got the "Congrats" status checker on 11/24, the same day as my dad got an acceptance letter snail mail at his house. For the record, I was 170/3.50, I wrote the max # of optional essays including a really strong Why Mich? which I'm sure helped.

QUESTION: It says "you have been accepted for fall 2013". Does this mean I was not accepted for summer? Can I still tell them I might prefer the summer start option?
I was specifically offered admission for Summer 2013, I don't know if that can be changed once accepted!

Has anyone in the first wave of admits (on 11/5-11/6) heard back about merit aid on the Admitted Students Website? I know the e-mail from Dean Z said it can take up to six weeks (its been three), but I'm curious if anyone has already heard back!

Nope. Checking about once a day.

I would guess that by the end of December you will have info on merit-based aid. I think they wait until they have a better idea of what the overall student body will look like.

So I submitted my app RD on 11/18 and I received a confirmation the next day. They said in the email, however, that I'd be receiving a status checker email within one week and: "If you submit all your materials and your application status isn’t showing as “complete” within six weeks from today, please feel free to inquire by emailing us at law.jd.admissions@umich.edu. We appreciate your patience."

I have yet to receive anything else from them :/ Do you think it's just because of the holiday? Or should I email the admissions office?

Okay, sounds good. I have been waiting MUCH longer for Penn and still haven't emailed them, but since Michigan specifically listed a time frame I figured there might be something wrong. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!

Same. I submitted on 11/16, and received a confirmation email later that day. Since that email said I'd receive a status checker in "about a week," I'm going to wait a few more days before checking in with their office.

Is it just me, or does Michigan have the most well put together "application received" email?

They're really the best at both email/snail mail communications

So does Michigan update the checker date everyday? It definitely seems like I've had at least 5 date changes

Is anyone else with good numbers for UM getting shunned out of the acceptance party?

Knock on wood, I think my numbers are pretty goo (surrounded by green dots on LSN) and I haven't heard back yet. Seems like they haven't done anything this week, though, so maybe we're just in line.

I'm right there with you, hanging out in limbo. We've got the same GPA (about median for Michigan) and though my LSAT is two points lower than yours, I'm still at their 75th. Michigan is starting to just make me sad.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
