Texas has screwed with my mind and sleep habits. I now unintentionally get up at five and have a debate about whether to check my email.

They need more time to look over your application, so its "held" over to the RD pool from the ED pool. It either means they just didnt get to your application in time, or you are on the knifes edge of accept/wl

Not at all imo, but I'd be curious about % of acceptances from people that get held.

It usually just means they want to review more of their applicants / how it looks like their class is shaping up before making a decision... I'd imagine it probably means 50/50 (but that's pure speculation)

Cincy is the only other place in Ohio I can tolerate besides Cleveland lol.

Only other city that's at least decently fun and the drivers don't suck

Definitely time for me to get out of here though. Born and raised, only left for undergrad

I'd agree (though I've already been admitted). Trying to keep hope alive for other cool applicants to join the class

The ironic thing is that they're trying so hard to boost those medians up significantly (and thus stay in the T14) that they're going to end up torpedoing their yield rate (another factor in USNWR rankings) because most people they've accepted will be matriculating at better schools.

Hmm yes, I still don't kow what they are trying to do. I thought for sure I would be WLed with a 168, 3.8 OOS no URM but I was accepted. Others have been flat out rejected with better numbers than me .. maybe they really are looking at PS and softs

I agree. They're going to have to start throwing a lot more money at their applicants if they want their medians boosted. Otherwise, yield will suffer and their plan could backfire.

Threerivers, I don't like it because I live in the hellhole that is south Texas. But Austin is a little Mecca

No hold email for me, still haven't heard anything since I went complete 11/7. Survived like 2 or 3 waves of rejection/hold/whatever emails now. The optimist in me says I've just been in the back of the queue to be called, the pessimist says I'm waitlisted. Guess we'll see.
