I'm still stuck on 10/11. Is this the point where I should just abandon hopes of GTown?

Just got an email requesting I do an alumni interview. Does this mean auto-waitlist? Or anything at all?

Same here. Just got the same email, on top of my application status update going from 10/31 to 11/16.emkay625 wrote:Just got an email requesting I do an alumni interview. Does this mean auto-waitlist? Or anything at all?

I was also just invited to interview. Anyone else?
Edit: I see others did.

You inspired me to check my email, and sure enough, there's an interview request!emkay625 wrote:Just got an email requesting I do an alumni interview. Does this mean auto-waitlist? Or anything at all?
I'm wondering if it means anything too. I doubt it means auto-waitlist. I certainly don't think my numbers are auto-waitlist, based on what I've seen in past cycles.

No interview request here
How do the interviews work, same as NU? (in terms of what they mean for your app...)

I believe everyone at NU is entitled, whereas you're selected at Gtown

I am guessing that you didn't get an interview request because you're an auto-admit. Just looking at the numbers of people who did get requests, I think we are all closer to being borderline applicants.Strange wrote:No interview request hereHow do the interviews work, same as NU? The email said that interviews are for applicants the "Admissions Committee wishes to know more about." They probably saw your numbers and said "well, that's all we need to know about Strange" and put an acceptance packet with your name on it in the mail.

Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure how the interviews function as part of the process. I Don't know much about GULC honestly I just applied on a whim. At least decision (either way) before Black Friday would be niceTim0thy222 wrote:I am guessing that you didn't get an interview request because you're an auto-admit. FWIW, not an auto-admit, but a decent-sized splitter. No interview email. Maybe it's location based? They only have so many alumni interviewers I imagine.Tim0thy222 wrote:I am guessing that you didn't get an interview request because you're an auto-admit. Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Indeed. I certainly wouldn't take the lack of an interview request as a bad thing. I'm a bit above both 75ths, didn't receive an interview request, and would be surprised not to get admitted (lots of green on LSN). Sheesh, this probably sounds pretentious - I don't mean it that way - only want to reassure you (and anyone else who could be concerned).Strange wrote:Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure how the interviews function as part of the process. I'm curious as to the accept vs. waitlist vs. reject percentages of people who got the interview request last cycle. too bad this isn't on lsn.

Got an interview request. Autoadmit numbers but my PS was absolute crap (>5 grammar/typo errors). Highly revised/fixed my PS for later applications.

I can't imagine a crappy PS would affect your chances if you truly have "autoadmit" #'s.KevinP wrote:Got an interview request. Autoadmit numbers but my PS was absolute crap.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
My interview went amazingly. Extremely laid back. She told me about the school; she mostly talked about it's strengths but touched on a couple weaknesses. Asked me why law and why Georgetown questions. It was a very informative interview on my end. We connected on a lot of different things. Overall, I felt like the hour long interview (longer than NU and Vandy interviews I did) flew by.Hopefully2012 wrote:I have one today. Well, I guess not as autoadmit as I thought.Strange wrote:I can't imagine a crappy PS would affect your chances if you truly have "autoadmit" #'s.KevinP wrote:Got an interview request. Autoadmit numbers but my PS was absolute crap.
That's great news! If you don't mind me asking, what other questions did she ask u?Hopefully2012 wrote: My interview went amazingly. Extremely laid back. For me, the FAQ wasn't completely clear... how much (if it all) does scheduling and doing the interview + GULC hearing about the interview and making its final decision affect one's application in relation to the rolling admissions process?
As for those wondering, I'm just about median in both GPA and LSAT.

Re: Georgetown c/o 2015 Applicants (2011-2012 cycle)
Yeah, numerically we're pretty similar, so it doesn't seem like one of us would get it and the other wouldn't based on numbers. Location-wise, maybe. But I'm in Oregon, and I doubt that is a location that would get selected. Also, the email said that if there's no interviewer in my area, they'll set me up for something on the phone or on Skype, so that's another reason it wouldn't make sense for it to be location based.Samara wrote:FWIW, not an auto-admit, but a decent-sized splitter.
