So nervewracking! But, it seems like they call about 5 people every time they tweet that they are doing calls so...can't get my hopes up.

I would guess that there will be a few more this time since it is the last round before the holiday break...phl516 wrote:So nervewracking! But, it seems like they call about 5 people every time they tweet that they are doing calls so...can't get my hopes up.

But it’s already 4:40 there!
. Do they usually only go until 5?

I think they go until 6pm... most of the calls have gone out pretty late...AmandaPB wrote:But it’s already 4:40 there!. Do they usually only go until 5?

Yesterday's tweet did say they would be making calls today as well, right? Has anyone heard anything?

IN!!!
None of my family members or my girlfriend picked up their phones, so you're the first to hear.
4.0/180, unprestigious UG, submitted 11/2
Hope more of you are getting calls!

Looking back, I feel like my 250 is semi-retarded. Just reject me now!

I'm completely frustrated with my 250...so frustrated that it's the reason I haven't submitted yet.

I was just having a very similar thought. It sounded so good when I turned it in...AmandaPB wrote:Looking back, I feel like my 250 is semi-retarded. Just reject me now!
Also, my phone just rang, and my heart rate shot way up. It was just my credit-card company.

Yeah, it was rough for me. Way too short. My topic was kinda weird. It definitely didn’t show off my best writing.thelawschoolproject wrote:AmandaPB wrote:Looking back, I feel like my 250 is semi-retarded. Just reject me now!

SAME! I was like, this essay is the SHIT. Then I read it today and thought it was pretty terrible. It’s funny how perspectives can change so quickly. Also, on LSN, no one with my numbers got in last year anyway. WTF.PDXNative wrote:I was just having a very similar thought. I just wish I knew if I was going to be rejected so I could stop thinking that Yale/Harvard might be a possibility. PLUS I love Stanford more than either school so I don’t really know what I’m worried about. I just hate uncertainty.

Ha, well I felt the same way for a while, if that makes you feel any better.PDXNative wrote:I was just having a very similar thought. It sounded so good when I turned it in...AmandaPB wrote:Looking back, I feel like my 250 is semi-retarded. Just reject me now!

I'm only the second (real) person on LSN and fifth (?) here to be accepted, so you're nowhere near the point where you should be second guessing yourself.

Don't worry too much about the 250. It says its rarely make or break, and mine was NOTHING to write home about. It was actually quite simplistic in style and autobiographical, rather than academic.
LSP- if you need another set of eyes, I'm happy to look over it for you (or anyone else still working on theirs)

Thanks!
I'm not sure if this will make people feel better or worse, but virtually everyone in the accepted students FB group--except for me of course--either went to an Ivy or a school of near-equivalent prestige. It seems to be a big boost in the early stages, but they accept students from so many different UGs that they're probably just waiting before they get to the awesome candidates from the less prestigious schools.

Did anyone not send in the 2nd academic rec? I only have one (+2 non-academic.) still.
