uh oh.. i didn't get an essay confirming my submission! did you submit it to that kleisman person, or is it different for each one? (mine's toll)texaskk wrote:forward wrote:Any idea when the next round of named schollie invites are going out?
Maybe after they let those of us who were invited in the first round know whether or not we've been chosen? Just a thought... The email I got confirming my essay submission said recipients would hear "during the first week in March," but no one has heard anything yet so ya....
Wow, is that a super generous curve? Or am I unschooled in the norms of law school curves? I mean, the top 55%% gets a B+ or better.hoping wrote:for first year its 15% = A = 15%, A- = 15%, B+ = 25 %, B = 25 %, B- = 15%, C= 1-5 %forward wrote:Has anyone been able to locate a copy of Penn's grading curve online? Its a bit generous but not so much within the T-14. UVA has almost exactly the same 1L median.Excellence = a Habit wrote:Wow, is that a super generous curve? i think someone said they came out around March 15 last year. When I visited last week, the director of financial aid said they still had 70% of their money to give out...jpk5372 wrote:Anyone have speculation on non-named scholly's??
no - my toll essay was dude the fourth, ad they said we would find out whether we made it to the interview round by march 15 (nothing yet!!) and find out who gets it sometime in march.tipler4213 wrote:That's awesome everyone! Do we think this is the last bathc of all the named schollys?

I have some other scholarship offers from other schools -- is my best bet to send them in now and hope for a higher than it would have been initial offer or wait and see the initial offer and then try to negotiate upwards using my current scholarships?eaa1537 wrote:I called the office and asked when the rest of the named scholarships should go out, and the woman I spoke to said the committee will be releasing decisions on Wednesday. So I guess if you haven't heard anything yet, hope for Wednesday, and if you're not going to get the named scholarship, I still think she meant you'll get some type of award on Wednesday anyways.
I think either option have a positive and negative side. Sending in sooner probably means they have more money. But I'm planning on waiting. If awards really are supposed to go out Wednesday, I'm hoping these next 2 days won't hurt me. Also I don't want to give them an exact amount in case they plan to give me more than my other offers- so I don't want to sell myself short. But I think it's really up to your preference.TLSNYC wrote:I have some other scholarship offers from other schools -- is my best bet to send them in now and hope for a higher than it would have been initial offer or wait and see the initial offer and then try to negotiate upwards using my current scholarships?eaa1537 wrote:I called the office and asked when the rest of the named scholarships should go out, and the woman I spoke to said the committee will be releasing decisions on Wednesday.
