Re: Tulane 2011
I just got my acceptance e-mail. Applied 12/5 but didn't go complete until Mid January because of a December LSAT. Really wish they'd just let access scholarship info on the web...don't feel like opening my mailbox anymore.

Is anyone accepted and going at full ticket price on loans? I am trying to decide if its worth 200K in debt between over 42K on tuition and then books and living expenses

Almost everyone on TLS will tell you that it isn't worth it, given Tulane's questionable employment % and sub top 3 ranking.jordyb wrote:Is anyone accepted and going at full ticket price on loans? +1 if I do get accepted, this is most likely my situation. I've reconciled myself to it though. And if I end up homeless, at least New Orleans is warmjordyb wrote:Is anyone accepted and going at full ticket price on loans? I'm probably going to withdraw because of this.jordyb wrote:Is anyone accepted and going at full ticket price on loans? I am trying to decide if its worth 200K in debt between over 42K on tuition and then books and living expenses

What if you're going into the public interest sector? Would the lrap program make a difference? I should probably do my own research on this, but just wondering if anyone else was in the same position

They might have money soon because not everyone who received scholarship awards are matriculating. So don't give up hope (unless they just keep the money)!

Be careful about what your getting into there with LRAP. Read the fine print, Tulane's LRAP program is not the best. Details can be found on their site, but it boils down to this. You have to be employed in a certain sector making less than ~45k. Any more, and the program does not apply. In addition, the program only makes your loan payments for 5 years. Any balance remaining after that is on you.clarebear726 wrote:What if you're going into the public interest sector? Would the lrap program make a difference? Law School debt can be life changing. Think long and hard about taking on 200K in debt. After 5 years, a lot of that number will still be left.

Although I liked Tulane and New Orleans, I think I will soon be withdrawing. I decided today I just don't want to end up in New Orleans in the long run, and I don't think their degree can take me back to SF. I had a scholarship, so hopefully one of you guys will get some of that. Good luck!

Re: Tulane 2011
lol...I guess they don't know what to do with a lot of people. I called at the end of last week and got the same response. The lady I spoke with, who was very helpful and friendly, said she couldn't guarantee a decision by then though.SixStrings11 wrote:I've been complete since 10/13 and I'm still waiting.. so I went ahead and gave them a call this morning for an update. They told me my file was still in review and they hope to get out most decisions by April 1st.jeo wrote:Mine's been complete since before Thanksgiving and I haven't heard anything either.TruePeace10 wrote:ugh my application has been complete since early december. how is it possible that we haven't heard yet?
So my file has been "in review" for about 5 months.. Must be just borderline enough for them to have no clue what to do with me.. lol

Re: Tulane 2011
Withdrawing tomorrow. I've been waiting since early November and haven't gotten a response. Even if I get in, I know I'm not getting any scholarships and I'd prefer not to have 6 figures worth of debt upon graduation. I have schollies at other schools in Texas (where I plan to practice), so I'm going to one of them. Good luck everyone!

Complete 1/10 -> Complete 3/28 today. December applicant who had to wait for their Dec LSAT results.
C'mon Tulane...it's just you and USC I'm waiting on before my cycle is complete. I love you, but that is NOT good company to be in.
