Under Review as of 11/30...Maybe they're not up to those yet? It seems that the 11/1-11/15 batch is being reviewed.

Out of curiousity, did anyone who did not have anything under mailings get an acceptance e-mail? I'm just wondering if everyone's theory on here was correct or incorrect.

I'm wondering the same thing. No email yet for me. Also, does anyone remember if there was more than one wave of emails last week for the same DR dates.jamiLAW wrote:Out of curiousity, did anyone who did not have anything under mailings get an acceptance e-mail? I'm also a DR on 12/10, with nothing under mailings and no e-mail yet. At the very top of the page it does say a Decision Letter will be mailed within 3-5 days, but I'm not sure that's the same as what you are all talking about. Also, 168+ and 3.7.

I'm at work and can't check personal email unfortunately. However, I'm starting to become fairly confident that this theory is correct. Of course I really need to just locate the nearest library during lunch and confirm no video email.
EDIT: Checked email. Nada yet at least.

In via email today!
My stats aren't impressive, but I'm five years out of undergrad with plenty of work/volunteer/travel abroad experience. (160/3.79)
Submitted 11/8, completed 11/16, decision letter mailed 12/10.

Good question. I'm in the same boat but more of a splitter. 170/3.3TheOcho wrote:I'm also a DR on 12/10, with nothing under mailings and no e-mail yet. Application on hold via snail mail. I guess there was no decision letter mailed on my status because this wasn't really a decision at all haha. I'm not sure whats up, I am an odd YP candidate at 167/3.7....

BC is soooo holistic. That's why I'm really worried. I got WL last time and I don't know why I think it'll be any different this time around. For the better, anyway.

Yeah they really are the most holistic i've seen (seemingly based on scores anyway). I was hoping my increased work experience and new recs, plus evaluations would help. I was waitlisted when i applied the first time (08) and am now on Hold.
Waiting till Feb seems super long, but am happy to not be rejected yet!

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
UCLA said that 10-20% of their class every year is WL-pull offs, but BC doesn't say anything about it in their letter. I wonder how bad/good our chances are. Regardless, I'm planning a visit in January (brrrrr) and already sent my LOCI.
----Edit: Wait, what's the diff between WL and Hold???

haha that makes me feel wonderful knowing that hollistic was not a good thing for me.... ohh well, already got into BU!
hold = will get a letter later (by feb 28) saying accept, waitlist, or reject whereas waitlist is a waitlist

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
Your rational plus LSP. The last school that I was a "strong consider" offered me $$$$, so I don't know what gives but YP is honestly something I didn't even consider when applying to T-1 schools. It would be nice if LSP had the ability to factor that in. And I'm not one of those people who already has a T-14 and would just like the satisfaction of getting a BC acceptance. It would be the best school for me thus far. Hopefully they are just trying to decide how much $$ to give us. LOL I know that's insanely optimistic but c'mon can't hurt to think big.TheOcho wrote:My rational side says we are both in. TLS has me paranoid.furrywalls wrote:Good question. LSP is dumb. I am a full on "admit" for BC but not anywhere close to YP.

Re: Boston College Applicants Thread
depends how you look at it i guess... you could be on the waitlist for ages and not hear a response till august, whereas at least for the hold there is a specific date. Then again, that decision could be a rejection, or a waitlist in which case it is worse or the same as a waitlist.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
